Restaurant Review: Wild Pita – A Mediterranean Gem in the Heart of the City
Nestled in the bustling heart of the city, Wild Pita brings a fresh, modern twist to classic Mediterranean flavors, offering diners an experience that feels both familiar and adventurous. With its inviting ambiance and aroma of spices and herbs wafting from the kitchen, Wild Pita draws you in and promises a culinary journey worth savoring.
Upon entering, I was greeted by a warm and friendly staff, who immediately made me feel welcome. The decor is casual yet chic, with earthy tones, potted plants, and hanging lanterns creating a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere. The setting perfectly complements the Mediterranean-inspired menu.
Appetizers I began my meal with the mezze platter, an assortment of hummus, baba ganoush, tzatziki, and a fiery red pepper dip served with warm pita. Each dip was a testament to the kitchen’s commitment to authentic flavors, bursting with freshness and balanced seasoning. The hummus was particularly creamy, with just the right hint of lemon, while the baba ganoush had a deep smokiness that paired wonderfully with the fluffy pita.
Main Course For the main, I opted for the Lamb Shawarma Bowl and was not disappointed. The lamb was expertly marinated and slow-cooked, resulting in a tender and flavorful dish. Served atop a bed of spiced rice with a medley of fresh vegetables, pickled onions, and a drizzle of tahini, each bite was a perfect harmony of textures and tastes. The inclusion of pomegranate seeds was a delightful surprise, adding a sweet and tangy pop to the dish.
Vegetarian Options I also sampled the Falafel Wrap, which is a must-try for vegetarians. The falafel was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a hint of cilantro and parsley that elevated its flavor. Topped with a crunchy salad mix and a generous layer of tahini, the wrap was both satisfying and refreshingly light.
Desserts To finish, I tried the Baklava, and it was an absolute treat. With layers of flaky pastry, honey, and crushed pistachios, the dessert was sweet but not overly so, striking the right balance to end the meal on a high note.
Service The service at Wild Pita is attentive and unpretentious, with staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and quick to offer recommendations. They genuinely seem to care about creating a memorable dining experience for each guest.
Final Verdict Wild Pita is a must-visit for anyone who loves Mediterranean cuisine. The dishes are thoughtfully crafted, bursting with vibrant flavors, and the ambiance is both inviting and stylish. Whether you’re looking for a hearty shawarma, a light vegetarian wrap, or a sweet baklava to end your meal, Wild Pita has something to satisfy every craving. Read moreServer was rude and inflexible, questioned all our decisions so we ended up walking out. I have lived in the Middle East for ten years, in the Levant, Israel and the Gulf, we asked nothing outrageous eg can you put the fries we are paying extra for in the wrap - but was rejected… despite fries being featured in many of the other wraps. Server was grumpy and like he would rather be anywhere else. This isn’t normal service in the Middle East, where they make it as you request and fries in the wrap is a norm. The ful looked under seasoned like canned ful, and the rice was stodgy like Asian rice - not the proper separation of grains that is crucial in Arab cooking. Chicken was not freshly shaved and was instead kept warm which means it lost its char and was wet from steam. Gross!
Significantly more expensive than Cava and teeny tiny portions, so will continue doing the...
Read moreMy wife and I ate here for the first time yesterday while in town visiting family. We're always looking for good, healthy options, so decided to try Wild Pita. We love this style food, so were hoping it would be decent. We weren't disappointed. The pita bread itself was super-fresh and soft, the meat very tender, and all the add-on veggies, sauces, etc, were fresh and flavorful. Their iced tea, sweet and unsweet, was fresh and clear--always a good indicator of any restaurant's quality in Texas. They put a lot of thought into the look of the place, which is minimalist, but has a colorful vibe with the yellow trim against the primarily white overall. Bathrooms were very clean--nice job there. Overall, a very good first experience and impression, and we will be...
