Tacos La Perlita — Restaurant in College Station

Me and my girlfriend decided to give this place a shot since the food looked great and the reviews were decent. As we arrived midday nobody sat us down, the staff didn’t have any interest in serving us whatsoever, so we decided to gaze at the menu on the meantime. After about 10 minutes a waitress came with chips and salsa to the table and asked us in an un polite manner what we wanted to drink, in which we both got coke. After she came back we proceeded to order, we could definitely tell she was not in a great mood which projected to us very quickly. We started to feel uncomfortable but just wanted to eat and go. We asked for a cup of water which she agreed to get us, but took her forever to get. The food arrived and the water still hadn’t arrived, we had to get another waitress to help us out. This left us a bad impression of the restaurant mainly because of her, when we received the check she came with an attitude, basically in a petty way. I felt compelled to write this review I stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for Mexican Restaurants. I am grateful for being able to try their food do NOT overlook their rice! I ordered tacos that come by themselves, no sides, and had to get a side of rice. I am a bit of a rice connoisseur with that being said I have tried a lot of different rices. This had to be the best one by far it created nostalgia and made me reminisce about rice I would eat in my hometown in South Texas. I also tried a couple of tacos my favorite being the carnitas. I was scared it would be dry, but it was surprisingly moist and very good I want to try their carnitas burger next! Their torta was great too! I hadn’t had one in years and it’s exactly what I wanted. Service was horrible our waitress got distracted with a bigger table and never hesitated to ask us if everything was ok. We ordered 6 street tacos and an order of french fries (not a complicated order)only got 4 tacos and the fries.Once we brought it to their attention it seemed like we were not important. The only reason i was addressed was because i got up from my table and tried to pay my four tacos and frien even then yet they were trying to charge me for everything. Worse part of this was that the manager didn’t apologize about what had happened just rang the ticket and charged us. I was very disappointing and more because Im the type of person that I would recommend locations and im all about customer service. Food was ok could need more seasoning to the meat more flavor this was not authentic mexican tacos.
