I walked in with my daughter to get something to eat before church. There was an employee in the back and an employee sitting in the lobby talking on her cell phone. We were not greeted. We waited for about 1 minute and the girl got up from the lobby and walked behind the counter, still on her phone. She said to the person on the phone, can I call you back. Then she set her phone down. She walked over to the assembly line and proceeded to grab a pair of gloves. I said to her, can you wash your hands first please. She put the gloves back in the box and walked over to the sink. She turned on the water got some soap and washed her hands for approx. 5seconds. Proceeded to rinse her hands and get paper towels from the dispenser. Mind you, she shut off the water with her hands before she got the paper towel. While she was washing her hands my daughter asked me why I asked the lady to wash her hands. I replied to my daughter because I don't want to get germs. The worker said you were not going to get germs I was getting gloves. I said to her gloves don't prevent germs. She said yes they do. I said I am not going to argue with you. I said we will just leave and she said fine you can just leave.
How to properly wash your hands: Turn on the hot water Get soap Scrub hand together for 30 seconds, cleaning under the nails and between the fingers Rinse Get paper towel with elbow, if you are using a dispenser that requires you to touch the dispenser to get the paper towel Dry your hands Turn off the water with the paper towel throw away the paper towel Put on gloves
Now you have safe hands to prepare someone's food.
Gloves DO NOT make it safe, if the person did not wash their hands! They have to get the gloves with their dirty hands, touching the outside of the glove to put them on! It's PERCEPTION people.
My apologies for the rant, I worked in the food industry for over 10 years. If you are not going to take food safety seriously get a job in a different industry. If you are not going to be polite don't get a job that requires customer service.
Managers, it is your duty to hire people that take pride in their work, take food safety seriously and have the ability to provide great customer service. Please take...
Read moreOne of THE worst subway experiences ever. A friend and I went into this subway; and there were maybe five people ahead of us. That wasn’t a problem. The server behind the counter was taking her sweet time, I’ve never seen someone work so slow: especially at subway. You guys are usually extremely quick and I never complain I don’t mind waiting really but my god I was in there for 20-25 mins. Just to order. The couple ahead of me said under their breath “she really doesn’t like you lol you keep asking for more thing on your sandwhich” she didn’t smile. Her customer service didn’t exist. Not even a smirk. Didn’t welcome customers as they came in. When it got to our turn, my friend was asking if they had the ingredients that most other stores have and she just said they don’t have it. Multiple things were not there? Once again taking her sweet time extremely slowly putting everything on piece by piece. When I get to the register I ask for a cookie and she even acknowledges it. And when I’m waiting to pay it never happens. So I don’t even care to ask any more because her service was just terrible. I think her name was Mikaela? Worst experience at subway. More then likely won’t choose that...
Read moreSubways Strongest Soldier; I am writing this review to reach the lady who took my order at the Harvey location. I’ve worked in food service, and understand that it’s nice to have slow days. However, it’s customer service and that’s that. A friend and I were the only ones that walked into the store and we waited for about 10 minutes till she acknowledged us, and from there she was just passive. After putting my sandwich in the toaster, I noticed the state of all the veggies (all freezer burnt) especially the jalapeños. They weren’t green and had an orange/brown look to them. Which I kindly asked if they had more to swap out with, resulting in an aggressive response saying, “she says these aren’t good enough for her”. Which she’s not wrong, but the thing is it wouldn’t have been just me. After this, I was honestly kind of fed up and walked out because I didn’t appreciate the snarky comments she had to say. Funny enough, sales are so important that she chased us out the door to receive our payment for our...
