Average food. Terrible service. This is one of the two instances that I left $0 for tips in my life. My wife and I arrived around 8pm and it was not busy, only 3-4 tables including us. We ordered seafood tofu soup, beef bulgogi and bibimbap. However, later on, a beef tofu soup is served. I lived in Dallas for 5 years and my work is close to a Korean town. So I spent most of my lunch break there (3-4 times a week). I never ordered a beef tofu soup, nor did any other waitress make a mistake on beef vs seafood tofu soup for me before. I kindly let the young waitress know that the soup was done wrong. I was assuming that she would take it back and remake the soup - like a normal restaurant would do. However, she said that she's pretty sure that I ordered the soup with beef instead of seafood. So we went back and forth a few times like "No, I ordered seafood. No, you ordered beef." At one point I said "I like seafood so I am very certain, and I always order seafood tofu soup." Here's what she said, I quote, "I'm pretty sure you like beef too, because you ordered beef bulgogi." Wife and I looked at each other and we can both see the confusion in our eyes. "What is this nonsense? Why would she wants to argue with us on this?" She finally agreed to take the soup back. They put 1-2 shrimps and a clam into the same soup and served it. Yes, that's their solution - turning a beef tofu soup into a seafood tofu soup by adding a few pieces of seafood, for my case at least. We had enough BS at this point, so we left the restaurant with the soup untouched. No tips were given. Some other reviewers mentioned there's an attitude issue with the waitress. I would suggest you not...
Read moreas a korean person… the food was pretty bad. everything was weirdly overly sweet and spicy, even as a family that can handle a lot of spice. everything tasted really unbalanced. the kimchi was super fermented (신김치라 해도 너무 신 김치…). the bean sprouts 숙주나물 banchan tasted slightly off.
we ordered the budae jungol 부대전골, seafood hot stone bibimbap 해물돌솥비빔밥, and galbi mushroom dupbap 갈비버섯덮밥. i can’t recommend any of them. the budae was spicy and tasted strongly of only black pepper and onions. the meat (spam & sausage) in it tasted really off. the seafood bibimbap was okay, but the seafood didn’t taste fresh. the galbi in the galbi mushroom rice was really thick, chewy, unseasoned chunks of beef, nothing like actual galbi. they also forgot the mushrooms in the rice. the entire rice dish tasted ridiculously sweet, almost like japchae 잡채 양념. we were so disappointed, given that this is the only korean food around.
i award 1 extra star for the service. the one host/waitress was sweet and tried her best. that was the only redeeming aspect of this restaurant.
if you’re expecting delicious, fresh, authentic korean food, i’d fully pass on this restaurant. very...
Read moreAll I can say is I spent time in South Korea while serving in the Air Force and I have drug my poor hubby all over the states trying to find a Korean restaurant that would take me back to Cherie Boys in Osan, Korea. This wonderful restaurant does exactly that, to a "T". The wonderful couple that run the restaurant are the most lovely people you could ever meet. We were treated like family. This restaurant is exactly what every restaurant should aspire to become in not just exceptional food and service, also all around great people. So, if you're curious what we actually ate here's the list: egg roll, beef bulgogi, squid & pork bulgogi, kimchi fried rice, and various kimchi. I can honestly tell you the kimchi is homemade. The cucumber, radish & traditional cabbage were my faves, while my husbands was the potato and another variety that was sweet. If you are craving incredible Korean food in a very clean and inviting restaurant you won't be...
