Memphis Street BBQ — Restaurant in Collegedale

Went for my first time. Ordered over $70 of BBQ.

Ordered 1LB pulled chicken, 1LB pulled pork, 1 sausage link, 1 pint bbq beans, 1 pint yellow potato salad, 1 pack of buns.

Got home and unpacked, buns were outdated over a month (04052024), I went on May 4th, very hard and had spots of mold. They had brisket instead of pulled pork.

The sausage was very good. Brisket..not very good...tasted like it had been sitting around...my dogs enjoyed it.

Chicken was okay.

The staff was friendly, but the food overall was average and giving month old bread with mold is disgusting.

Whoever is rating this place with 5 stars apparently hasn't had quality BBQ.

I gave 3 stars because the BBQ beans, sausage, and potato salad were good. Probably more like two stars.

I won't go back.

BTW, I see how the owner responds to anyone not giving 5 stars...laughable. Using the "nailed to the Cross" when one doesn't enjoy the truth is sad.

RESPONDING TO THE OWNER: I ordered pulled pork, but your team gave me brisket.

I know the difference between the meats, I've been smoking for about 25 years. Your team goofed and packed the wrong meat. Own it and quit passing the blame.

Says a lot about a business owner that responds to people who don't rate them...

My husband, Dad, and I just picked up dinner, and were thoroughly impressed. They were extremely busy when we arrived, however we still got our food in a timely manner and we could tell how hard the owner and his one employee were working! The owner apologized for the wait due to being short staffed and explained he was hiring, so if you’re looking for a job definitely give him a call. My Dad ordered the brisket plate and my husband and I both got the 1/2 rack ribs plate. It was the best bbq we’ve ever had! Not only that, but we also tried the banana pudding and pecan pie, which were sooo good! The servings are extremely generous for the price and we are excited to have found our favorite bbq place not too far from home. We can’t wait to go back!

I truly believe the owner could be on the next season of Food Networks, BBQ Brawl or BBQ Pitmasters! He definitely knows what he is doing and his food does not...

On a dad/daughter date, stopped on a motorcycle ride and ate here. I got the brisket plate and the daughter got the brisket sammich. (Yup, spelled right! LOL) The portions were a healthy size! The brisket had great flavor and with just a bit of BBQ sauce, it took it to the next level! The fries were hot and freshly made. Crispy on the outside, steamy and yummy inside! Really liked the seasoning they added to them. Both the slaw and potato salad could have used a bit more pop on the seasoning. It’s a great little place. The two working were so helpful and friendly! The price was extremely reasonable for some good BBQ. Loved the smoker out front and the delicious smells from it! Favorite part was the cashier taking out a fly with a salt-gun! Cracked us up. (Daisy duke shorts, cowboy boots and a salt-gun up on her shoulder! ) I’ll be eating here again because it’s the best BBQ...
