Unless you're looking for a good hamburger or a decent bowl of French fries, this place is not the place to go. My wife ordered the Mahi Mahi sandwich and I got the steak sticks and were both disappointed. She had to ask for a different meal altogether because the Mahi, prepared from frozen, tasted bad, almost rotten. The server was nice and brought out the Philly steak and tots for a replacement but no manager stopped by to apologize or offer even a nice word. At the end of my meal I spoke to the alleged manager on duty that was indignant that he had to speak to me about something that was taken care of by his staff. Frankly I doubt I'll go back even for a burger at this point. That being said, to Huey's, please take note that if it's on the menu it should be not only edible but taste good. Your staff needs leadership training and the waitstaff needs to know the menu without having to ask someone about where the food is from. If you're going to serve fish, get it fresh or take it off the menu. If anyone else had gotten that piece of fish I doubt they'd say anything and just moved on. I believe you should know about the bad along with the good. The best part of the meal was the tater tots. The fresh veggies were overcooked and tasteless. The Philly was decent. We didn't drink alcohol so we only saw our server twice and had to flag down another server when the fish was tried. Overall I gave you an extra 🌟 because in the past the burgers were good and we've had decent service. Maybe this was a bad night but in comparison to your competition at Booyah's & Skybox, y'all came...
Read moreI normally do not write reviews, but I feel it is necessary this time. Came here for good food. We were not disappointed with our main courses. We ordered the Pineapple and Chicken Kabobs with Sweet Potato Fries, and a burger. These were fantastic. At the end of the meal I decided to try the “Homemade Lemon Icebox Pie.” I never order dessert out at restaurants, but this looked so good. (See Image). It was $4.95 for a slice. When it was brought out by the food runner, First Impression... the little dinky slice was overwhelmed by the amount of open space on the plate. It was such a small slice. Then taking a bite, realized it was way more of a Key Lime pie, than Lemon. Very disappointing. When the server came to check on us, I told him that everything was great, but I felt the pie was not worth the almost $5 they charge for the slice, and it wasn’t even Lemon. He told me that he agreed that their prices, and I quote “were greedy” and that over the years he had noticed the size of the slices getting smaller and smaller. He walked away and then brought us the check. I was STILL charged FULL PRICE for the pie. Unbelievable that there was absolutely no offer of even a discount on the pie for my dissatisfaction. I really liked the atmosphere, and the food was really good. Other aspects left something...
Read moreSo I'll start out by saying that I'm spoiled. We recently moved here from Massachusetts and had become accustomed to some nachos that were incredibly delicious. Since moving to Collierville, my wife and I have been in search of nachos that measure up to what we had experienced there. Huey's was the second place we've gone.
So the nachos aren't terrible, but they're not anything I'll go in search for. They're pretty typical of what you'd find at most restaurants with too much shredded lettuce, not enough meat, and cheese that isn't fully melted. I'd say they're comparable to what you'd get at Taco Bell.
I also had a draft beer. I'm partial to the ambers, and the one I had hit the spot.
The restaurant itself is okay. There are all of these weird sticks stuck to the ceiling. I don't know how they got there, but I can't imagine it's very sanitary. One of the walls is covered with crayon drawings and writing. The service was very good, with an attentive server.
It's not somewhere we'll return to, as I'd rather not sit underneath someone's meal discards that they've thrown into the ceiling, and we're still in search for...
