Paleteria Arcoiris — Restaurant in Colorado Springs

Heads up, the menu was on the wall and in Spanish I believe. But worth it, because the flavors are pretty easy to understand regardless. And of course you can ask if you don't understand. But mostly it is icecream and various icecream bars and some desserts you only get in Mexican restaurants.

I enjoyed the icecream there, especially the banana split. Though they actually let you choose the icecream flavors and they add coconut shavings (not my favorite so I requested it without coconut). It had whip cream and some sauces but because I chose two scoops of chocolate I couldn't really taste them. The chocolate was amazing, but overpowered pretty much everything else. That was my bad.

Completely worth it, honestly I may just go for the chocolate in the future.

They also have a lot of different flavors for such a small shop, and even more icecream bars.

I also got a pecan bar, it was something I've never had before. My friend said it was basically black walnut only with pecans. Not something you find anywhere else around here. They still have plenty I want to try.

This place is so delicious!! I can't speak for the ice cream but for the Popsicles, they make them themselves!!! They are so incredibly creamy and delicious. The employees have always been kind and helpful. The esquites (corn in a cup) is pretty good! I personally always ask to add nacho cheese.

Now here is why I added the 4 star. Everything is yummy. No doubt. But they do take forever. One time we waited an hour for our order. Here is what I recommend: make the orders AS YOU GO. Receive an order, make it, serve. Receive an order, make it, Serve. Currently they take 10 orders and then start making them and that is where the problems is. Once they start doing this I will be more than happy to give them the 5 stars...

We never even got to order anything! My kids have been asking to go for weeks now, so we decided to walk down there after dinner last night. I checked their hours and Facebook to make sure they would be open. We got down there and they were closed! The door hours says they are open until 9pm, their website and Facebook also said they were open until 9pm. Nothing on the door explaining why they were closed! A guy pulled up and asked us if they were closed, we told him yes. The poor guy said it was 1.5 hr round trip drive for him to come here. Ridiculous!
