Our selections were excellent. We had the giant antipasto salad, with all kinds of meats, blue cheese, and other goodies in it. One of us didn't care for the plain ham in the salad, however; but we all loved the Prosciutto ham, and other meats, veggies, dressing, peppers, & blue cheese kibbles. One guest had an individual bacon pizza and really enjoyed it. The rest of us shared the Large Specialty Roman Villa & salad. We feasted and ordered extra to take home for later. The service has gone down hill since the cousin or some lady that the 3rd generation took over the management recently. She isn't friendly or personable the way her grandparents and parents always were. We used to eat here two-three time a month and bring our business associates, guests, family members with us. Out of town clients also enjoyed coming here. Tonight, I saw the 2nd or 3rd party to get seated in the far back, SE corner and not be served any settings, water, or menus until everybody else got theirs in the west end of the dining room area. I never saw this happen before: The customer kept leaning around to look for some staff to notice them or give them attention. No one came until I finally notified the newer, unknown relative/manager, of the oversight, that these others had been waiting for service since 5 PM, when Roman Villa opens at night. I was treated with unfortunate hostility after that, even though I informed management and her apparent second in-command, politely about the matter. If you plan on returning to this restaurant, or coming for the first timw, you need to be alerted that you may not be treated with the usual, attentive, welcoming disposition you may have heard or read reviews about Roman Villa, since 1986. You might find a more friendly and more pleasant, attentive group to handle your service, for busy Friday evening crowds. Until this current owner/manager is replaced, I and all our guests might not feel comfortable returning...
Read moreWe ordered dinner to go at Roman Villa Pizzeria at 3005 N Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80907. We are from the Northeast and have been trying to find a good Italian Restaurant in the area for three and a half years and we are still looking. This however is by far some of the worst “Italian” food we’ve had in quite some time. We haven’t tried the pizza yet because we’re just a bit tired of pizza so we ordered main courses the “House Specialties” portion of the menu. We got the Linguini with Clams and the Roman Villa Chicken. The linguini with clams was just that. They took linguini, dumped some canned clams on top and threw it in a bowl. No flavor to it at all. It comes with cheap white bread and a salad made up entirely of iceberg lettuce. No tomatoes, no carrots, no peppers. The Roman Villa Chicken was even worse if that’s possible. The chicken was put in the microwave and/or boiled. No flavor at all. The linguini was stiff because there was no oil on it. They threw some uncooked tomato slices on top of the chicken and some cheap half-melted mozzarella with black pepper and garlic. If you want to get full on empty flavorless starch, then this is the place for you. The...
Read morePSA. I genuinely have no idea how this place has 4.7 stars currently. They're also doing a booming business from the looks of it, my only thought is it has to be regulars who continue going out of solidarity since it's been open (a long time). The pizza was giving mediocre at the very best. The house made ravioli was absolutely horrific. It looked and tasted like a 6 year old contestant on master chef junior, one that didn't actually make it onto the show, made and prepared it. Completely waterlogged, pasta had to be at least a quarter inch thick, overcooked, filling was gross, sauce lacked flavor. Caesar salad was a bad shredded mozzarella, sad lettuce, and a surely not house made dressing. Honorable mentions are a good local craft beer selection, cheap wine, the service was attentive, novelty in ambiance. Anyway,$60 later I'm still feeling taking advantage of and wondering how this place could possibly be in business. I know times are tough, I know the springs is a pizza/Italian dessert, but there are SIGNIFICANTLY better options, your house probably being one of...
