The slowest, most unorganized restaurant I've ever picked up from. 10 minutes after placing a pickup order from here, I arrived to pick it up. I was greeted by an unenthusiastic employee that looked directly at me and didn't bother acknowledging me. After lazily tapping a screen a couple of times, this employee finally asked me if I was picking up for NAME. I confirm, and he said it would be ready in about 6 minutes. Right on.
I use the restroom and fiddle with my phone for 20 minutes or so, all the while 3 customers come in and pick up their food before me. I gave Saigon Grill the benefit of the doubt and assumed they must have placed their orders before mine. Eventually, the first employee asks me again for the name on the order, and THEY HADN'T EVEN BEGUN MAKING THE ORDER.
I end up having to wait another 10 minutes for my food, and eventually another employee tries to explain to me that my wait was due to some glitch in their system, but this was a blatant lie. The first employee I interacted with asked me if I was picking up for NAME, so clearly they were aware of my order, but instead of taking responsibility and saying they forgot, blamed computer software.
Order from here if you love waiting way too long for your food. If you like your food being ready at an agreed upon and reasonable time,...
Read moreThe first time I came through here on a quiet evening we were the only people in the restaurant and were treated like stars and it was great food and I truly felt this was a hidden gem. Today I came through to get some meatball pho, and I struggled with the gentleman taking the order... there was clearly a language barrier. I ended up with brisket pho and I was NOT pleased with my order. No cilantro or any type of herbs, no chives or thinly sliced onions. There were THICK raw onion slices, and the broth was a super pale flavorless chicken broth. And the worst part is they served it with a LEMON wedge!
I was hungry and I paid a decent amount for this and I'm sad that it was not so good. That being said; the Vietnamese egg rolls are pretty delicious but for two of them it's definitely overpriced. They serve the Vietnamese egg rolls with a pile of vermicelli rice noodles and some slices cucumber of carrots and the traditional dipping sauce, but not a lettuce leaf to be seen and definitely no bean sprouts, cilantro, and no lime, so the entire point of having a crisp and cold lettuce leaf with the hot egg roll in the center cannot be done here. The one size fits-all brisket pho and two Vietnamese egg rolls was over $21...
Read moreDecided to go here on a whim last week, and it is now hands down my favorite Vietnamese restaurant, ever. Everything we tried was fantastic, and the Saigon Grill for 2 (I think that's what it's called) was super fun as well! They bring you the fixings, and you get to dip the rice paper and wrap your own spring rolls, although my first attempt turned out to be more of a burrito than a roll, haha!. And the Pho.... oh my goodness the Pho. They may not have as many "options" for Pho as other restaurants that cater to it specifically, but it's hands down the BEST Pho I've ever had. EVER. No need for any other sauces, or seasonings, they've got the recipe down to an art. I'd love to try all the different things they have on the menu in the future, but I'm not sure I'll be able to resist getting the Pho every time I go.... It's so good!! And to top it off, the staff is very kind and friendly. We had a small Sriracha mishap the first time around and made a bit of a mess, but the staff was super nice, and laughed with us about it. I absolutely recommend this establishment, and hope that your experience is as awesome as...
