My experience here was not so great unfortunately, and I wanted to share my honest review and to suggest those thinking of having a quality watch like a Rolex, Omega, etc. serviced by them to look elsewhere. They were friendly, at least the people that greeted me or I talked to on the phone and thus the 2-star rating rather than 1-star, but the actual service I received was very disappointing. In short, I really can't recommend them for servicing nicer watches (and if you're curious about the details, read below).
I initially brought in my automatic Omega Speedmaster (ref. 3513.30) to see if they could fix a broken metal link on the bracelet. Since I didn't know the watch's maintenance history before I got it and since I was there anyway, I asked if they were qualified to service the movement and if so, I agreed they may service it ONLY if it needed it. I informed them I needed it done within 3-4 weeks as I would be traveling out of town for many months. So I carefully said that if the servicing of the movement can't be done in that time, then I was perfectly okay with skipping this as long as the bracelet was fixed. They agreed with all this.
I called the day before we agreed for me to pick up the watch, but was told the repair wasn't even started yet but promised it will be done the next day as originally planned. Sure enough, they called the next day and said it was all done and I picked it up later that afternoon. It certainly looked like the repairs were done last-minute because they didn't really fix the bracelet.
Now I brought the watch in because one of the fixed links on the bracelet came apart (there are about 6 such fixed links on each side...they're all attached together and can't be separated whereas the remaining non-fixed links can be removed for sizing the bracelet). So what they did to "fix" this was to remove that chain of fixed links which included the broken one and took the remaining end and WELDED it to the other end piece.
Not sure what they were thinking but removing 6 links drastically shrinks the bracelet and NOW only a small INFANT can wear my watch! When I picked the watch up, the "baby-sized" bracelet was not attached to the watch itself and the clasp wasn't folded closed so I didn't realize this until I got home. I had to leave town soon after so have yet to go back. So now the bracelet is permanently damaged and it's going to cost $600+ to get a new one from an Omega parts supplier or certified watchmaker. In view of this, I'm not very confident they serviced the movement competently or even at all (although it's running no different than before accuracy-wise, which wasn't great to begin with, so I can only speculate). I paid $400 for this repair but I can't even wear my watch properly.
......I'm really really bummed out as you can probably tell from this absurdly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a great place! I went here in hopes of finding out what was wrong with my Luminox watch that was acting erratically. I was sure that I was in for an expensive bill and long wait. Well the young guy who helped me took my watch after I explained all the crazy behavior and he did his thing while I wondered around the store. By the way, there are more clocks in there of every type than in a museum.
After about five or ten minutes this technician of time came and found me and explained that the battery contact had been displaced and was moving around. I asked how long it'll take to get fixed, he handed me my watch and said "it's done". Oook that was fast, so I asked him how much, he said "no cost" with a smile. I mean that's amazing. My watch, my favorite watch, has been useless for about a year since I had a different place (in the mall) replace the battery. I haven't done anything with it because I thought it would take serious work and need to be sent off and this guy not only fixed it, but did so in less time than it took me to drive there and didn't charge me. So I bought a watch band which he helped me with. Didn't really need it, but couldn't leave without spending a few bucks in this wonderful shop full of kind people and beautiful works of art.
So if you need a battery changed, a clock repaired, a watch worked on, or just want to check out an amazing selection of clocks and watches, go check this shop out. It'll remind you of a time long gone where you can just wander around and not be pestered until you actually need something. And when that time comes you'll be provided with amazing service. I look forward to going back and looking through their watch selection a little...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI took 5 watches into the store. Some for battery, some for replacement straps and springbars, and watch and adjustment.
First, the store has every single watch that is on my "buy" list, from Hamilton to GShock. I've never seen so much variety and so much quality in one shop. This place should be on your list for Seiko and Bulova shopping for sure. Anyway, the selection was impressive.
A nice older woman helped me out. There were other employees buzzing around and helping everyone who came in after me. There were about 8 battery replacements and one other watch band adjustment happening while I waited for my work to get completed. Some customers did have to wait a bit to be acknowledged, so I can see how some reviews speak negatively about this place. Everyone was helped though, and their work was finished quickly. $9 watch battery replacement is a good deal I think.
One of my watches, a brand new Seiko "Sumo", has a watch band that's a bit tricky because it has collars and pins. I mentioned it and a different employee took over that band adjustment. Like I said, it was brand new and it came back to me in the same condition. Not a scratch. That was a relief.
I had a good experience and would recommend that anyone shopping online stop here first. Lots of variety that is scarcely seen in bigger name stores. I'm not sure I'd have my watch internals maintained by them or ask them to swap in a sapphire crystal yet, but I was pleased with the small stuff, so I may have a Seiko Arctura refurbished by them and see how that goes. I'm picky and they are on my short list of potential businesses that I'd let touch my watchs internal movement. If I choose them, I'll update the review with...
