My wife and I discovered Daniel's Taco Shop completely by accident. We were wanting Mexican, we were about to drive by, and she did a search on her phone. We were only about a half mile away and going in the right direction, so we decided to give them a try. Well, what a gem of a restaurant we found. It is a simple place, but has a great menu. Everything type of Mexican dish I have ever wanted is available there. And there's a picture of each item on the wall. Sometimes I only order that way instead of bothering to read the descriptions. I have never been disappointed. Our favorite item, and the one we order the most (obviously) is the vegetarian burrito. My wife is vegan, and finding menu items that she will eat is difficult in most places. But the vegetarian burrito at Daniel's is the best we have ever had. I am NOT vegan, but I frequently order it instead of a meat or cheese dish just because it is so good. In fact, I had one again today! I intended to eat half and bring the rest home to my wife, but, well, what she doesn't know won't hurt me, right? I ate the whole thing myself almost before I knew what happened. And Daniel's doesn't skimp on the portion sizes, either. Normally, half of a burrito is a whole meal for me, but I took an entire afternoon to nibble it down to nothing. And I enjoyed every bite!!! I wish we lived closer and could get our food delivered via Doordash or Grubhub or something. But the point is moot. Daniel's is worth making the drive and I will do so whenever I am in the mood without hesitation. I am very grateful for their food and their service. I...
Read more😕 I’m so sad. So many people told me to come and try this place, ‘highly recommended, best food’ yadda yadda. I was excited, but kept putting it off. I even dove in and read the reviews. After reading, that’s what pushed me and got me pumped to go WAY out of my way just to try. (Fingers crossed)……Whelp. NOPE. I have not tried everything on the menu, but based on my first experience, I will not waste the money trying anything else there. I loved their green smother sauce, but I will go back for that ONLY. I tried the supreme carne Asada quesadilla, I saw a pic of it on one of the reviews. The customer said it was packed FULL and could feed two people! So that’s what I decided to order. But What did I get? On my first visit ever? A puny little flat quesadilla with barely no meat, no sour cream, baby specs of cheese and MAYBE (if I’m exaggerating) a teaspoon of pico. The “quesadilla” was not filled nor flavorful. I was so disappointed. To be honest, I took 3 bites and tossed it in the trash. The only good thing I encountered other than their amazing sauces, was their awesome customer service. She was so sweet and lively. She gets 20 stars. Too bad the food sucked. Will not return unless getting sauces. That’s all. Sorry Daniels taco shop, but you dropped whatever ball people were ranting and raving about. Also, I do not recommend a product here even though they’re forcing me to do so before I can post my review. Please ignore the...
Read moreDaniel's Taco Shop is located conveniently by the north gate of Peterson AFB. It looks smaller from the outside, but the dining room is really spacious.
I had to inquire the difference between mini tacos and reg tacos. The description says that it's a normal tortilla size for reg tacos and they described that the mini tacos have tortillas about 3" in diameter. I think I was super tired and not paying attention because my perspective was that the mini tacos were just too mini for how hungry I was feeling, so I ordered the reg tacos. I ordered an adobada and a lengua taco. Sadly, they don't sell tripe.
I got my order to go so it took me a bit to be able to actually eat. Well, I opened my to go container and the 2 tacos took up the container. When I imagined in my head "reg tortillas," I envisioned smaller tacos. And these babies were loaded!!
They were so delicious and seasoned properly, but were not oversalted. I also got their red and green housemade salsas. The red salsa is a mild chipotle. It was good, but I'm not really a chipotle person so I can't tell you one way or another if it's a wonderful chipotle. Now the green salsa...I love green salsa and it was spicier than a medium, but was so delicious.
If you're in the area and craving tacos, you definitely need to try this place. They have other offerings besides tacos, but I couldn't tell you what they were as I was super focused on tacos - it's...
