If I could give zero stars, I would. After reading all the reviews with them getting orders wrong, my whole experience makes more sense now. I have an allergy to meat (beef) and specifically ordered the veggie fried rice that is not the hibachi version- I even pointed to that specific meal on the menu when the waitress was taking our order. We enjoyed some plum wine and a small appetizer before the cooking began.
The cook went ahead and started putting the rice and noodles on the grill area. Both were ok but way overly salted so I couldn’t even finish the whole portion. A few bites in and I already felt full. I found it slightly strange that my whole plate hadn’t come out yet but didn’t think much of it since my meal did include rice. I thought maybe they had a different way of doing things since our last visit. Also, our water glasses were never refilled even though we were drinking water along with the wine. Not a good combo with such salty foods.
Next, the meat was cooked for the rest of the people at the table, dished up on everyone else’s plates, and the chopped veggies thrown on top of the area where the meat was, making it inedible for me. Shortly after the veggies were grilled, the cook threw a huge portion of them on my plate. I was confused at that point why my original order hadn’t come out yet and I was served these veggies instead. We complained to the waitress when we got our check minutes after I was given the contaminated veggies. She gave the excuse that if there’s a party of two and only one orders hibachi, we had to sit at a normal booth and not at the hibachi grill area. Or I guess they magically assume the whole party wants hibachi even though that wasn’t the case. Well why not tell us that when I pointed to the menu and specifically ordered something else that was not on the hibachi-specific menu section? What a scam.
We asked for a menu and I even pointed to the same spot I’d shown her earlier and we clearly explained to her that it wasn’t the hibachi part of the menu. I told her my whole order could not be eaten now due to my allergy. We asked for a manager because she was beginning to argue with us. No one showed up. She went back and changed the check price to reflect the cheaper non-hibachi fried rice with veggies, not even once apologizing or offering to remove my whole order because of the fact I couldn’t even eat my meal. Due to an allergy. Then once we pay, because we aren’t going to be thieves and run out of there, another waiter hands us the final check. Our waitress was too scared to confront us again about HER mistake. Absolutely rude customer service. I do not complain much, but this was a serious issue due to an allergy and they disregarded the whole thing. I don’t recommend coming here if you have food allergies.
We went a few months ago and had a lovely time when they sat us at the hibachi grill even though only one person in our party ordered off the specific hibachi menu. The experience though this time around was so awful and inconsiderate that they’re not getting our money again. Especially with them blowing off the fact I had an allergy and they did nothing to fix the mistake. Don’t go here unless you want to pay for overpriced food and...
Read moreI'm not one to take reviews too seriously when trying to decide on a new place to try for the first time, but man I should have for this restaurant. I'm also not one to post super harsh reviews, so please take this seriously.
I spent over $70 on take-out at this establishment for lunch today as I have been craving Hibachi for months now and a lot of the other places out there in the springs also have not so good reviews, so I had settled on this one.
I ordered fried wontons, Hibachi chicken and filet mignon with an aded side of Hibachi scallops with fried rice, and Thai Tea. The fried wontons; I would prefer Panda's over these. The Hibachi chicken; super small/dry pieces of non-seasoned chicken. The Hibachi filet mignon; with the quality of the meat it did not seem like filet mignon, it seemed like what you would get from just ordering the normal steak, and also super bland in taste like the chicken. Hibachi scallops; keeping the trend going, super super bland in taste, with the quality of the rest of the food I was expecting these to taste fishy but was surprised when they did not. Also was surprised at how big they were as well. Fried rice; worse and most tasteless fried rice I've ever had at a Hibachi place. Which I guess is why they stuffed so many soy sauce packets in my to-go bag which I thought was weird since I hadn't ordered any sushi. Best part, the thai tea; when they initially handed me my food they didn't hand me a drink, so I went back inside to let them know I had ordered a thai tea. The lady handed me a bottle of thai tea... so I ended up getting two by accident because I was expecting a bottle of thai tea. Which was disgusting by the way.
Overall presentation of the hibachi; when I opened the container I immediately wanted to throw the whole thing out just based on looks. The container was stuffed 2/3rds of the way with these weird noodles (random and not wanted, EVER when ordering Hibachi, I mean really???..) and the tiny section that had the protein (which were super minuscule amounts) sitting on top of the very few vegetables that were in there, were just drowning in this watery sauce.
If you're thinking about dining in (because everyone knows that getting take-out at a restaurant can be a completely different experience versus eating inside of it), you've been warned. The atmosphere on the inside was very dark and depressing, and if I had seen the inside of this place before ordering I would have picked somewhere else. It was one of the weirdest set-ups for a hibachi place that I've seen, and I'm military and have been to several different places in several different states...so the point of all of this, just stay away. I wouldn't even come back here to try any of the other food items on the menu. If their hibachi quality is this bad I'm scared to think about the quality of their sushi and raw fish...
Read moreFood was awesome. Nothing to complain about there. The service on the other hand was horrible. After being seated without even a hello. Our server walks two steps out from the bar towards our tables and yells "drinks?" No hello or smile or any kind of greet. We say we want two waters for now and 5 minutes later we get them. They're sign on the door said "happy hour 3-5 1/2 off alcohol drinks" so my boyfriend gets a zombie and I order a White Russian, both off the menu. The server who was also the bartender looked at me like I was crazy and said "huh? What's that?" Not great menu knowledge and when he returned with our drinks it was clear he didn't know the ingredients that go into either. While placing our order, we had filled out the sushi roll sheet indicating how many rolls we would like. He picked it up turned it over and slammed it back on the table and just snaps "four rolls?" to which I responded "yes, please" and snatched the paper off the table as well as the hard cover menu out of my hands and storms off. When it was time to pay, our bill came and the drinks on the tab were full price. We thought maybe we made a mistake up so we went back and checked the sign and saw we weren't mistaken. So I asked the server why we didn't get the 1/2 off discount. He said "beer and wine only" and I returned with "your sign says alcoholic drinks with no specification of which" he shrugged and walked off with our payment. It's not that the prices were higher than most sushi places, so paying the full price for drinks was not a big deal. It was just the lack of acknowledgement of the sign offering 1/2 priced drinks. Normally I would hate to leave any kind of comment about a restaurant, being a server myself, but it was clear that the staff here does not care about giving respectful and satisfying service. The poor quality of service was not due to business or new staff. We were the only table in the restaurant at 4:00 pm on a Tuesday and they had 6 staff members eating around the sushi bar area who also didn't seem to notice our existence. I have never felt like such a burden in a place in which I know the tip is the most important part of a servers pay. (Took a picture of the happy hour sign but won't let...
