This is our regular spot I can’t say enough good things about them. They take great care in providing unique menu items, bringing in specialty coffee and providing a clean comfy space for everyone. They host gatherings like car shows, reading corners, plant exchanges, veterans, study groups, counseling, sweater exchanges and games. It’s a fun inclusive place. They’re genuinely good people who have brought together a little community in our neighborhood. I’ve made life long friends here. I’d like my review to end here but they were attacked by another reviewer seeking to damage their reputation in a gross way.
I was there on the day they had the unfortunate circumstance of asking someone to leave as mentioned by another reviewer and other reviewers not present at the time. That’s not a fun experience for anyone on any side of the situation. And in the confusion and embarrassment of a situation like that things can be assumed or misinterpreted or relayed to parties not present that feel like commenting. But, sometimes icky stuff happens and let’s talk about supporting our small businesses in the good and bad of times.
This person has been in repeatedly alone or otherwise. Does not sit at a table with their party if with someone and uses their facilities, WiFi and space for 4 or more hours at a time all while making no purchase at all. Making matters worse after refusing paid for services he returns another day and opens beverages and other food items purchased elsewhere and consumes them in front of the owner. It’s beyond rude.
I’m not sure why the other reviewer pulled the race card on the owner it seems off topic and intentionally slanderous. When the confronted said he was saving the owners shop money by not making a purchase it was suggested that a community center is an alternative. If the other reviewer experienced discrimination at a local community center in the past that’s a total bummer, but also unrelated to this situation. Another may suggest a library but they may not like the outside food and beverage brought in either…
The only mention of armed services was by the person who was asked to leave who was dressed in civilian clothing and grasping at anything to injure the owners reputation on his way out. He accused her of not supporting the military as she was apologizing to her other patrons for the scene, Ewh. No reason to drag our military into that there were many military families present at the time who feel nothing but love for this shop and embarrassment in their fellow man.
The party who left with him arrived separately and sat at a different table near him with headphones on and was thanked for her purchase. Apparently unaware that he frequents this spot and usually brings his own food and beverage in. So yes she was a paying customer sitting at a table near him. He was sitting at a separate table eating outside food and beverage plugged into their electricity dumping in their trash using their restroom and wifi access, who was politely asked to make a purchase on more than one occasion. This area of the shop usually accommodates 4-6 people sometimes more when extra chairs gather round. That’s valuable space for two people not sharing a latte.
A business depends on their customers patronage in order to provide the space, utilities, fireside and internet service we all enjoy. I totally support them in defending that. The owner is passionate about what she provides to the community. She was fierce in defending it.
None of this is related to discrimination it’s the lack of respect shown for fellow human beings in their place...
Read moreABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO TO FORGE COFFEE LAB. My fiancé and I went here, I bought a latte, and he was with me studying, but did not buy a drink. We were both respectfully in the coffee shop studying and working. My fiancé was on the phone and I asked for the wifi passcode. The owner then asked if my fiancé was buying something, and I said I was not sure. The owner then came to my fiancé and I and started yelling saying that my fiancé needed to buy something and said we were no longer welcome because he brought a small yogurt as a snack. She said it didn’t matter that I bought something from them and we both needed to leave. This owner was racially charged, explaining that this was not a community center and that my fiancé was taking away from the small business. My fiancé and I were very calm, and packed up. As we were, the owner then announced to the whole shop that this is why we were not welcome, EVEN THOUGH i bought a drink from this shop. My fiancé is an active member of the military and explained that this is not how this community should be treating military members. The owner then still said this is not how you treat small businesses, still yelling at us as we left. We were very respectful through it, but none the less, DO NOT COME TO THIS SHOP. the owners are VERY disrespectful and racist towards my fiancé. If you care about the military and those who are marginalized, DO NOT...
Read moreI just didn’t want Starbucks. Searched Google for a shop that didn’t look like they specialize in raspberry chocolate flavored drinks that they call coffee. This place intrigued me so I drove over. I was immediately disappointed when I saw that they were next to Home Depot and figured I was in for a commercialized overpriced under crafted coffee. I’m very happy to report that I was wrong.
While this guy (shop owner served me) has every brewing implement known to man, with several pour over rigs ready to go, they were on trial with me, and I judge ships based on the basics. How is your drip coffee? If you can’t do that right I’m out. So with some reservation o ordered a 16 oz coffee, no room, and a toasted bagel with cream cheese.
Dang son. So good. The Ethiopian was an excellent roast level and brewed to perfection. I look forward to coming back to experience some manual brews as well as some espresso treats. Well done, Mr. Coffee shop owner. Well done.
Simple photo because … you excelled at the basics and I’m sure your other options are just...
