J.C's Cafe — Restaurant in Colorado

So Maybe the cook was having an off day, It was good but I expected much better considering the raving reviews. I got the biscuits and gravy and hash browns. The gravy was good, not the Greatest in the land, but not the worst I've ever had. The hash browns though.....Tasted as though they may not have been cooked with love. Although, cooked to almost crispy perfection,.the amount of vegetable oil used to fry up this little shreds of potato goodness was enough to drown a horse, also,.no seasonings, no salt, no love. So a sad disappointment on the hashbrowns. Biscuits and gravy was average but hey, in this area, I'll take average bc im usually left extremely disappointed in someone's inability to make gravy taste like anything other than watered down chalk. The eggs were cooked exactly as ordered, so another bonus point for knowing how to fry up some aborted baby chickens. The coffee though, was on point. So whoever made that coffee, Thank you for making it strong enough to taste but not chew! You deserve a raise!

The place overall was clean and quite quaint, like grandmas kitchen and the server was super nice, quick and courteous.

Overall, it was a good experience and if in the area, I would give it another go.

Also, side note: the prices listed on Google are off and it really should be updated to reflect the actual prices...

Today, I was pleasantly surprised when she generously offered me two complimentary meals, a gesture that truly touched my heart.

Aside from the outstanding service, the food at J.C’s Cafe is simply divine. I always opt for the eggs, bacon, and French toast, and each bite is a flavorful delight. The quality and taste of the dishes speak volumes about the dedication and passion put into every meal.

I wholeheartedly recommend to everyone in Golden and beyond. Never judge a book by its cover!! This little café is a diamond in the rough!!! From the outside, admittedly, it doesn't look like much. I was doing work in the area and it was very early morning, around 6:10 AM and I was just looking for somewhere besides McDonald's that was open for breakfast and found JC's Café on Google. After reading three or four reviews, I was sold and decided to go check it out. When I pulled up to the front doors, I was a little surprised by how small the place was, but I decided to take my chances And no joke it was one of the best food experiences I've had in a long, long time!!! Once inside the doors, the place is friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they have a strong sense of community by all the art and drawings and service flags they have on the wall. I ordered just a simple breakfast burrito with bacon and added a pancake for good measure. Usually I don't write reviews of businesses of any kind on Google or anywhere, but after having a friendly conversation with one of the owners I felt proud to leave an honest opinion, especially when I was seriously shocked at how good such simple menu items like a burrito and pancake actually were!!
