I visited this place while traveling to see my sister and was with both her and my mom!!
The manager Jacob was the only person at the counter and I told him I had never been there before so I asked if I could sample some of the sides. He said well he would have to go downstairs and there were other people behind me.
He said to get what I want and if I don't like it he would replace it.
Trying to be considerate of the situation he was in I ordered a 4 oz. ( small) size of the baked beans, macaroni and cheese, vinegar slaw and spicy slaw.
The girl who brought out my food put some of my food on my mom's and sister's tray s and handed me the baked beans by themselves. Before I could say something she disappeared so I asked for a tray to put my food on!! The baked beans were decent but room temp and not hot!! The vinegar slaw was as dry as the Sahara Desert and the spicy slaw was INSANELY HOT AND I LIKE SPICY BUT THIS WAS OVER THE TOP SPICY!! The macaroni and cheese was HONESTLY THE WORST I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!! NO FLAVOR, NOT WARM AND HONESTLY SO BAD A KID WOULDN'T EAT IT!!
So I proceeded to approach the counter and speak with the manager and tell him I didn't like some of the sides and his response was " I thought that might happen". I told him can he just give me a large 8 oz. Baked beans and we'll just call it even. Mind you I'm still pat for one side I didn't eat or like but I figure why would he have a problem with that since he still came out ahead. His response was SHOCKING!! He tells me " I'll just refund your money and you can go somewhere else"??
Then he got very abusive and said " What you're saying may be OK WITH YOU BUT IT'S NOT OK WITH ME"!! I WAS STUNNED!! NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I HAD SOMEONE BE SO DISRESPECTFUL, ABUSIVE AND JUST DOWNRIGHT MEAN!!
Here's the problem. I rode with my family so I can't and will not just up and leave them!! I'm not familiar with the area at all and my mouth is ON FIRE BECAUSE OF YOUR SPICY SLAW!!
He GRUDGINGLY gives me a SMALL 4 OZ SERVING OF BEANS!!
To add insult to injury we spent $50 at this HELL HOLE AND LEFT A VERY GENEROUS TIP WHEN PAYING!!
Furthermore I noticed the owner/ manager walking around talking smack about me to other tables and it was VERY OBVIOUS AS THEY TURNEDT TO LOOK AT ME while he was insulting me!!
I WOULDN'T GO BACK FOR ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD!!
The fact that he's NOT JUST THE MANAGER BUT THE OWNER AND TREATED A FIRST TIME VISITING CUSTOMER THIS WAY IS BEYOND THE PALE!!
I hope ANYONE READING THIS RECONSIDERS PATRONIZING THIS ESTABLISHMENT BECAUSE A FIRST IMPRESSION IS A LASTING IMPRESSION!!
BEING RUDE. DISRESPECTFUL, OFFENSIVE, ABUSIVE AND UNPROFESSIONAL IS NOT A BIRTHRIGHT OF ANYONE LET ALONE A MANAGER OR OWNER!!
Just BECAUSE YOU CAN DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD!!!!
The only POSITIVE in all of this was the 2 Girls who worked there...

11/5/23 Sunday: Still great!!
5/22/22: Fabulous bbq!!! See below. Huge deck with a view of the mountains. Great music: I always hear B B King and Jimi Hendrix.
5/8/22: Always great bbq chicken and pork. Always great service. Also love the barbecue baked beans and the green chili mac and cheese.
11/7/21: A crowd was on the raised deck enjoying good food, warm, dry weather and gorgeous views of the Rockies. I had my usual ColoBama sandwich, see below, and enjoyed the great music.
10/31/21: Still fabulous!! I had the ColoBama again. The Green Chili Mac n Cheese was unbelievably good. Best I have ever tasted.
7/28/21: Had the El Diablo pork sandwich today along with bbq beans and sweet/sour slaw. Great.
Wow. Good stuff. Had the "ColoBama" smoked chicken sandwich. It had chunks of chicken with pickles and white queso cheese sauce. Fabulous. Smoked BBQ beans were great and plentiful. There was some spice in them that I could not identify but it really added interest. The slaw was fresh and crunchy with a sweet, vinegar dressing added. It was perfect. The beans were served in a cardboard french-fry type container and it was full. The coleslaw was also in a similar generous container. No paying up for sides served in a tiny plastic mustard or ketchup containers here. The sauce on the table was tomato/brown sugar based. Tasted great and added to the sandwich. The paved parking lot is small. There is a large dirt lot adjoining that might be used. My Google maps directions were lousy. Next time I will navigate to Planet Honda on Colfax in Golden which is right across the street. The restaurant entrance faces Moss Street and there are kind-of steep stairs up to the second floor. It was 96° outside and not cool enough inside. There was not a capacity crowd. It was a little before 3pm under a clear Colorado sky with a view of the Rockies to the west. My kind of place except...
Read moreI am a sucker for bbq as I used to work at the world famous Hog Heaven, in Bailey Colorado. Never could get enough.
I have ordered from Seasoned Swine quite a few times in the past yea, or so. I do enjoy their food, however it is quite fatty/greasy. The ribs are excellent, fall-off-the-bone tender with perfect flavor. The beef burnt ends are good however quite fatty. I'm not too big of a fan of the fat/grease. The pulled pork is also very tender with some sort of mixed seasoning sprinkled on top. The beef brisket is really good as well, however they seem to run out towards the end of the day. I haven't been able to get any of the brisket the past 3 times because unfortunately they had run out for the day. The smoked beans are quite greasy, but they're not bad. It was explained to me by the lady at the register that they put baked beans in the smoker under the meat and let the juices run into the beans as they cook, which is the reason they are greasy. The brioche buns for the sandwiches are a decent size, and great texture and flavor. The cornbread is soft and moist with a sweet taste.
The inside of the restaurant is quite small, but they do have quite a large balcony for outside dining. The staff are friendly, and it seems like a family owned establishment. The prices are typical of any other BBQ in the area, however I've enjoyed their food a bit more than some of the others.
I would definitely recommend this place if you live in the area or if you are visiting and looking for a quick bite. I know I will be going back sometime soon! 😎😋
They do not deliver, themselves, but you can order their food to be delivered through Uber Eats, as well as GrubHub. You can also call-in orders for later pickup.
FYI - I am partially disabled, and climbing the staircase to get into the restaurant area is a bit of a...
