I love this place! It's a little pricey but worth it considering the quality of the food. I do wish they had duck sauce though (oh yes, the east coaster is coming out!). They do have egg rolls AND spring rolls. This is important considering the majority of Chinese places attempt to pass spring rolls off as egg rolls because they don't know the difference but this place knows thier egg rolls! Also I love the fact that the cashew chicken is not diced. The fried rice could be spruced up a little to include items besides rice and peas, (most fried rice I've seen includes egg, carrots, onions, little pork pieces.. Yes I know it would technically be pork fried rice at that point but it's super common to include that) but it is still tasty. Also, I found it odd that thier soup options are hot & sour soup or egg drop soup. At most places, wonton soup is the star player but at this place you have to order it seperate and they only have one size at that. It's like the owner put it on the menu just because people seemed to ask for it because they had some kinda childhood trauma with it. AND I would love to see some combos on the menu besides lunchtime only combos. Who doesnt love their rice/lo mein, main course, egg roll, side of soup, and fortune cookie all in one little package for one price? They have a decent lunch buffet but it is a little small for the $8.95 price tag. You would think for all the 'suggestions' I have for them, that my rating wouldn't be five stars but that is all they are, suggestions not complaints. It is an awesome little place with great food and I highly recommend trying them. But be prepared to spend because there aren't combos so you will have to order your soup, egg rolls, and other items SEPERATE which hikes up that total price. Personally, I think $25 for two people for lunch (small buffet & drink) is too much. But, if you are looking for good food and have around $30-40 to spend for dinner for two or $25 (most lunch combos run around $8-$10) for two then it is super yummy and you won't regret...
Read moreWe have been going to and ordering from Tea Palace since Mr Ney opened it many years ago. Unfortunately, after the way we were treated tonight I don't know if we'll ever eat from their again. Called to put in a carryout order, was asked to hold and then the phone was just set down so I could hear the lady taking someone else's order. I was "on hold" for at least 5 minutes before the lady picked up the phone to take my order. I finally get my order in and am told it'll be 30 - 35 minutes. Unusually long for them, but I had just heard her take a giant order for someone else so I figured that's why. Show up to pick up the food only to be told there is NO order. I'm told this several times, like I'm lying about ordering from them. Then finally someone gets a call that another customer got the wrong order - my order. Guy at the window says they'll remake the food, we need to drive back around and get back at the end of the line. Fine, I understand it takes a few minutes to make the food. Finally get back up to the pickup window just to be charged FULL price for the order. So beyond disappointed right now. It's definitely going to be awhile before we go there again, if we ever even decide to. I always try to support local, but with service like this it makes it...
Read moreBeen waiting for them to open back up to dine in as I live out of town I cannot order food to go. It's been a year since I tried and I looked it up and saw it said dine in on Google thing. Boy oh boy but no it's not it's still to go only. There is no good options for Chinese food. This place had by far the best egg rolls in sweet and sour sauce ever and loved their fried rice a new how to use their seasonings. I understand financially it is beneficial to have to go is only you don't have to pay extra staff. I just hope they at least consider to open up for lunch or for dinner couple days a week and then to go the rest of the days. give people who love that place that don't live here a chance...
