Flor's Diner — Restaurant in Colton

Unfortunately, I have to give a bad review. From the starters as we walked in felt like the waitresses were already in a bad mood. We went there to celebrate my mom’s bday. It was our first time visiting and our LAST!! Brought us only one refill of coffee. Their demeanor was uncaring and unpleasant. Not even a smile on their face. The vibe was just off but we were like let’s just make the best. We noticed we didn’t get chips and salsa and asked about that. There was a charge of $4.75 for a bowl of chips and some el pato like sauce. Chips were not only thin, they were stale. We were a family of 6 and those chips needed a refill…. Well unfortunately there’s no refills. We were so shocked. My niece ordered a cranberry juice and same with that, no refill. Beans had a funky taste and I got chilaquiles they were ok tbh just not spicy enough and very greedy on the cheese. I mean with the price of the plates I’d assume they would add a little more cheese, (under the eggs were no cheese. Look at the photo for reference.) They were also very stingy with their salsa “picosa” and then when we poured it in our plate there was pieces of soggy tortilla. Idk if that’s the norm but it was very odd to find pieces of tortillas in it. We waited over 10mins to get someone’s attention. Our experience was very unpleasant to say the least. I had high hopes for it since we googled and made some comparisons before arriving. What really took our 5/10 ratings to a 0 was when we went to pay, waitress had this look of annoyance and to top it off they charge a 3% to use a debit card!!!! Never ever have I had to pay such a thing. When asked like why did my bill go up that much. She’s like there’s a charge of 3%. I was shocked and her tone was very unacceptable. Yes I was shocked not rude about it I just wanted to know why it went up almost $5. I paid and said thank you. She gave me a stanky face and didn’t thank me for coming or reply you’re welcome hope to see you soon. No sense of customer service. Such rude service and attitude. Sad to say we will NEVER come or recommend this place. Young ladies get your act together if you’re not in the business of serving I’m sure Amazon is...

I have been going in Flor's diner on and off for a few years because I take my wife and her friend to lunch. It is close to the friend's home and she does not have to drive far. The food was great before Covid but the last 3 times I have been in there the food I cot was BAD!. I ordered a hamburger. The patty was shoe leather thin and as hard as a hock puck. Not flavor. Forget the rest of the burger. The bun was fantastic. To bad what was in it wasn't fed to the disposal. LOL My wife got a Chile relleno was on the small side and not much flavor and where was the cheese. The beans were on the dry side and so was the rice. The toko's were not worth the money. I said the last time I was there I was not going back. I should have listened to my head instead of the wife. Now for the rest of it. The music was so loud I could not hear what was said. I might be old but I have good hearing. The selection of the music would give you nervous breakdown. I asked twice to have it turned down. It got turned down a little when I said it for the whole place to hear but then it went back up. Lets talk about the service. the woman works there all the time and was alone. No big deal. The place was half full but I could handle it with no problem. I never got more water and the lady's did not get refills. The women got pie and ice cream to split between them and it took 20 minuets to get it. Talk about slow. I know the owners but they do not remember me. They also own Baseline Burger which was a fantastic place in the day. Best dinner food in the country. Now it is over priced, dry and in such a bad part of town I will not go close. There are fantastic Mexican places to eat but none in Redland, Highland, San Bernardino, Loma Linda and Colton. One need to get out the valley to find anyplace that has good food. Even the chain places here have bad food. I travel all over the country and world. I know good food. They need to close their doors. My burger was not a burger. Well it was very crowded which was because it was Father's Day it took about 10 to 15 minutes to get seated. That was great. It was starting out pretty good the waitress friendly and we got our drinks. Well the problem started after taking our order was when the waitress came to us about 20 minutes later and told us that it was going to take a little longer for food. A gentleman who sat on the counter came in 15 minutes later than us. Got his food before we did. Well we will ordering my wife and ask the waitress instead of red sauce for chilaquiles on her food can she get green sauce waitress said no problem. We finally got our food an 11/2 later. When the food came me and my daughter got our food and then my wife got her food about 10 minutes later and it had red sauce on it. My wife told her the problem and she took it back but she came back about a minute later showing my wife the ticket said red n that she was wrong supposedly. I told the waitress that she wrote it wrong because my wife wanted green on hers. When the waitress brought the plate there was only one egg n under the egg was red sauce. The first plate had 2 eggs which is what the menu described she would get.thw second place looked like they threw the rice n beans on it cause they were passed about the order was wrong . I paid almost $50.00 for 3 mask n drinks. Become before when it was busy and never had this problem.
