P & G Burgers — Restaurant in Colton

The food here is truly amazing! I ordered a pastrami and steak sandwich, a chicken salad and a chicken burger and all three were incredibly amazing. But let me tell you about the incredibly phenomenal and kind customer service displayed by everyone at this beautiful little spot in Colton today. I drove my Tesla Model 3 through the drive-thru & it decided to stall on me, in the drive-thru. It just stalled, wouldn't go into drive mode, it had plenty of battery power, just stalled. I was blocking the drive-thru right at lunch time. Well, everyone at the restaurant was VERY, VERY kind to me. They were patient, helpful and understanding. From the owner, to his son, to the cashier, to the cook, they all came outside to try to help me. They were very kind at ALL times. They got into emergency mode and guided the other customers around me and came outside to give them their food. My Tesla caused quite a scene, I was so embarrassed but ALL the employees at this restaurant displayed such kindness that I'll never forget. They even helped push my car to a parking space. I wanted to cry tears of gratitude. They showed enormous patience and kindness. And when my elderly mom and I got home and tried the food, we were even more pleasantly surprised- the food was phenomenal. The steak & pastrami sandwich was the best in this area, comparable only to a famous deli in NYC, better than that actually. The grilled chicken salad is also amazing. I saw a lot of customers from the nearby hospital there. In all, this place is now my favorite restaurant in CA. Thank you so much to all of you working here. You're an example...

Looking for local joints instead of major chain restaurants I checked out P & G. If I see pastrami on the menu my search is over. I went through the drive thru so I can't comment on the restaurant inside.

I can't pass up the onion rings as a side in the combo order. I ordered online and returned to my hotel (It's a COVID thing). The hand made rings were overflowing the bag they came in. Crunchy coating!

When I unwrapped the pastrami I came face to face with a serious sandwich! Pickles & mustard were inside, but the main ingredient, pastrami, showed it meant business. My first bite: "Hey! This is Pastrami here!" What flavor! I liked the crusty texture that added it's own spark. I'm not sure, is the pastrami fried on a griddle a bit? Good stuff!

UPDATE: I went back looking for a repeat performance. Not so much this time. I ordered a BLT+Avocado combo, with a side salad.

When I went inside to pick my order up, I saw a sign on the prep counter that said each order must be checked for the side items - flatware, ketchup, salad dressing, etc. That sign was ignored today. My chopped lettuce with tomato and shredded cheese came with no dressing - "dry".

The sandwich was overloaded with lettuce (plenty of bacon & avocado, though). With all the extra lettuce the cut up sandwich quarters were impossible to hold. I tossed the undressed salad. The sandwich was ok, but not up the the reputation of that pastrami.

Wow, what a superior experience. Today we decided to dine in at P&G's in Colton CA and ordered a Double Cheeseburger and Steak Salad. After a waiting time of approx. 10 minutes, we got our dinner. It was absolutely delicous. It's definitely a place to be in Colton, very clean restaurant, quick service, reasonable prices. It's a five star rating for sure!

Quick update: yes, we did it again! As we were around again, there was no doubt about a location for dinner: we visited P&G Burgers again. When you've been at a great place for the first time, you are always kind of curious when visiting the next time: will it still be as good as in my memories, or will it be kind of disappointing? That's what we were worrying about, but there was no reason for that. P&G has even improved it's apperance and renovated very impressive. Food (we ordered Double Cheese Burger and Steak salad again ;-) was as delicious as we remembered from last year's visit. Overall impression: very clean and tidy burger restaurant, delicious food for definitely reasonable prices. Once again, from our side a five star rating!

And another quick update, one week later: today we were out for dinner at P&G Burgers again. Another superior experience! We ordered a cheeseburger solo and a steak with eggs, hash browns and toast. Just look at the picture and imagine this savory...
