I teetered from 2 stars to 3 stars because their food is great. They are usually quite busy because of this! It was my boyfriend's birthday and he loves their food. I made a reservation since we wouldn't get a table otherwise (with a $115 deposit, $25 non-refundable) for 9 people. Gratuity of 18% was added to our final bill, the $90 refundable deposit was not taken off the bill (apparently it was supposed to be but I assumed I would get it back after the day we dined) and we paid $100 cash towards the final bill. At the time of paying we specifically said to take the $100 off and charge the rest to my card. Rather, the waitress took the $100 cash and charged my card for the entire balance. I contacted management later and he said "ok no problem I'll refund you once I find your receipt". He found it, and refunded the $90 that was supposed to be refunded anyway. After going back and forth, and me assuming he didn't understand, he basically told me "too bad" about the other $100. I don't know about you but $100 is a lot of money to me and I ended up paying over $350 for the dinner. I will NEVER go back to MAD COW EVER AGAIN. For management to have absolutely zero regard for a customer is astonishing to say the least. I wish that wasn't the case, but I refuse to ever go back. The music was also so extremely loud I couldn't hear the people right next to me (inside seating). That was also the case the last time I ate there (outside seating - at the edge of the...

I really wanted to love this place - the reviews were great and we were craving hamburgers. We were there on a Sunday afternoon, 2 people working. 2 people were waiting for food, plus us 2, and 2 ppl came in after us in the 1.5 hours we were here. So, it was a slow afternoon.

Walked up to the counter, looked at the menu posted, which doesn't have the sauces listed, and apparently the choice of sauces is part of their attraction. The 2 ppl working just kind of stared at us from the kitchen. Right as I caught on you're supposed to order using the tablets (screens were dark so I didnt notice them immediately) one of the workers walked up and offered to take our order. We ordered, then got our drinks and looked for a table.

Half the tables hadn't been wiped off so we picked a crumb-free one.

The food arrived in a reasonable time and tasted pretty good. The only real complaint is that the patty was falling apart so was messy to eat. The fries were tasty but def greasy.

Prices were reasonable for a 1/4lb burger with loads of fries.

It felt a bit dark and creepy, not many lights were on. I double checked the store hours on the way out because it had that "we are closed but you walked in right before we were going to lock the door vibe" but no, they were fully open.

So, overall, unlikely to return unless there's a...

We went on a college visit the weekend on 12/13/19. Had dinner based on the reviews on the Googs. The burgers were awesome and the fries were even better. The burgers were fresh and very well seasoned. They were juicy and the toppings made it all the better.

The fries were a lot and well seasoned. I ordered a large which is actually two bags which I couldn’t finish. I’m 6’5” and over 300#, so not finishing a meal is rare for me but I was so full. My wife had the sweet potato fries and said they were the best she’d had. The fries were not greasy at all.

Best of all was the service. The guys working the counter and the grill seemed to really take pride in the food they put out. They were friendly and very service minded. If my daughter commits to Mizzou, we’ll have to make Mad Cow a regular stop every time we visit over the next four years. Best wishes from a Chicagoland...

Nice little hole in the wall, but don't have super high expectations. The food was decent but the presentation was lacking. I got the Philly, first time I've ever had one on a hamburger bun, it was toasted though. But when I opened it, it was a "steak'ums" type of meat that they cook and just slapped on the bun. They didn't shred it while they were cooking it. So at first it looked like a square smash burger. I had to get forks and shred it myself, which was a little difficult because the cheese was just coated over top of it. All in all it tasted good, the fires were homemade style and the free nacho cheese was a plus. The employee that took our order was polite. Will come again, but I'll order something different next time.

ABSOLUTELY amazing place to eat. If you have never been here and are wondering it is a WAY cheaper Five Guys, minus the shelled peanuts. This place has a very simple menu, their burgers are fresh beef, large and amazingly seasoned. All the toppings are free, onions, lettuce, sauteed onions and mushrooms, pickles, tomatoes, and such. Their fries are cut fresh in the store. Free cheddar cheese sauce. All and all an absolutely great place and half of not a third of the price of Five Guys and I think their food is better tasting and quality. Stop in and pay them a visit. Another great point to me is the owner is an Air Force Veteran!

I went here because I had a craving for a burger. I didn't know what to think about a place named after a fatal disease (Mad Cow) but I tried it anyway. I got the bacon cheeseburger value meal for11 bucks. The value meal is served with a small (and I mean small fountain drink with freshly cut seasoned fries.. I managed to find my burger well hidden under a huge bun. The burger was actually pretty tasty and the fries were delicious. I left not full but satisfied. I think I will go back and try a sandwich with more beef.
