This is one of my favorite places to go eat in Colombia. It's a fun place to go for dates, meet up with friends or family. It can be a very busy spot especially during weekends and normal eating hours. For a more quiet atmosphere go on the weekdays in-between lunch or dinner rush.
Once seated the servers will ask if you have been here before and give you the run down if you haven't. Once they take your drink orders, if you want rice or any appetizer/dessert you're good to go up to the buffet.
You pick up a bowl or two and start filling it with noodles, various meats and veggies. They have many different sauce options to choose from and different guides on a sign up above the bar. Once done you take your food over to the grill section once there's an open spot on the grill they take your bowl(s) and start cooking. All you have to do is keep moving with the line as it shortens and watch the grill masters cook. Once your food is cooked they'll hand it off, there are toppings options at the end.
If you happen to go when it's someone's birthday, you can tell one of the people at the grill and they will start singing happy birthday and encourage everyone to join in by saying "Attention Huhots! it's (person) birthday"etc..
I appreciate the fact that they have hand sanitizer stand at the beginning and end of the buffet. They also have chop sticks and hand wipes at the beginning of the grill section, ladleing the sauces can be a bit awkward/messy if your not careful. They do not have eggs anymore.
I highly recommend downloading the Huhot app especially if you're planning on going often. Every dollar spent gives you a point towards a free appetizer/dessert or meal. All you have to do is tap the check-in to earn and a code will pop that the waiter will type on there device so you earn points.
The app also has recipes you can follow if you don't know what to get or don't want to risk getting a sauce combination you hate. You tap the three lines on the top left hand corner. Tap FAQ. Tap the three lines on the right hand corner. Tap Menu. Tap Recipe Card Graphics Recipe. That should get you to multiple recipe options that you can try out. It's a bit confusing and it used to be simpler to get to.
Overall highly recommend if you want to try something a little more engaging than your typical situation of sitting waiting for your food. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Just please be patient if the...
Read moreThis is pretty much my go-to place in Columbia. Absolutely delicious. When they ask you for your side, I would suggest the Asian salad. The garden salad was not that great the one time I ordered it. The Asian salad has better-tasting lettuce, and comes with a delicious Balsamic Vinegarette. Also mandarin oranges and these little crispy curly-q things that I can't quite identify, but which add great texture to the thing. You really can't go wrong here. The way the food tastes pretty much depends on how well you choose your sauce combination, and if you mess that up it's totally acceptable to go through and try again.
People talk like it's pretty expensive. I don't know...I think the prices are about where they should be. I mean it's great food, and all you can handle of it. They give you a side for free most of the time. All you can eat of the best and most interesting food you can imagine plus a drink, and you're probably paying about 14-15 bucks per person before the tip. Plus, if you get a loyalty card, you'll be able to take $10 off your next order every time you accumulate $100 spent. I probably go there close to every month, so that adds up quickly in my case.
The service has also been really good about 95% or more of the time I've been there. There was really just one time out of the...I don't know...40 times I've gone that the waiter sorta forgot I existed.
The grill guys are also really friendly, and they will frequently do interesting things while you're waiting like flare up a fire on the grill or sing. They always seem to be having fun (even though it seems like a really uncomfortable job to look at it), which enhances the experience. One other thing I might recommend. Bring a little cash. I don't carry cash and usually forget to bring some. I used to think they grill guys got a cut of the tips if you just add it to the receipt. Turns out they only get the tips you throw into...
Read moreWe've always loved this place and we still do. You go to the buffet line, grab a bowl or two, fill them with everything you want in your stir fry, get in a different line, the grill line, and hold onto said bowl/s. Sometimes the lines can be bad, I highly recommend going when they're not busy. My biggest problem though is the price to food quality. I chew my food abnormally well, so I've always had trouble with their super chewy beef and chicken. The tilapia tastes not great for me. They now have little round chicken NUGGET bites. I personally just have trouble with their protein selection with the price you pay, but that's me. My husband is not as picky so he's fine with it and loves the imitation crab. Other than that, I love it too. You get to make your own sauce combination from a large selection (in the same bowls) and stir fry is just awesome. It's fun to watch the grillers do some tricks with their spatulas and they'll call out your birthday and sing to you. They tend to be charismatic and nice. You can ask them to steam your food too and they'll cover it. The buffet Only has things for stir fry, no deserts or sides. Although you might be able to get a bowl of something meant for stir fry to eat on the side like pineapple, I'm not sure because they're all in the same buffet line as raw meat and people drop and spill stuff like crazy. The pictures were taken right before closing so it's not normally that messy and there are normally two replicated sides to the sauce bar. After it's all said and done, for a buffet and high buffet prices, I'd rather go elsewhere like golden corral, but I'd recommend trying it if you don't mind the things I mentioned and love stir fry! I hope you enjoy wherever you...
