Pancheros Mexican Grill - Columbia Grindstone — Restaurant in Columbia Township

Tragic update: As a vegetarian, Pancheros has been a haven for me for several years. Their "tofusada" was simply delicious and raised them far above Chipotle in the taste department. Now, however, they have switched to "tofurizo," which is an obvious attempt to mimic Chipotle's vegetarian protein option. And while the Chipotle version isn't all that great, Pancheros' "tofurizo" is simply terrible. I have no idea why they did this; if it's a cost issue, I am positive they are going to lose more money due to lost business than they were losing by using quality tofu and spices. I've given it a chance a few times, but I can no longer stomach it. It's surreal: they've taken the best vegetarian burrito in the city and absolutely trashed it. Wow. From five stars down to two.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I love this place. The best fast-food burrito, period. The tortilla wraps are more durable than the average, which makes for a more comfortable eating experience. If I have a qualm, it's that -- similar to a buffet -- if you get there at the wrong time, the ingredients (particularly the veggies) can be less than fresh. I did takeout, we ordered 2 loaded tacos and a steak and chicken quesadilla. I wish I could have gotten our food sooner but for whatever reason my phone GPS kept taking me to the general area where Pancheros was located but kept rerouting me! I finally pulled over and called the restaurant. The girl that answered was super helpful and very patient with me because I was getting very upset because my food was sitting there ready and I could not find the restaurant! I have dined here many times and I enjoyed immensely the service is on point and friendly the food is fabulous and I look forward to going back. they also handle big parties very well I have had one there and have attended a handful of them there it's so nice to find places that provide exactly what I'm looking for in a night out to eat. the only thing that I dislike is the side of town it is on if I can avoid grindstone I do and usually the only reason I go over to that side of town is for pancheros.
