Nestled in the heart of Columbia, Bag Of Joy Bagel Co. is a gem that brings the delightful taste of New York-style bagels to our doorstep. From the moment you walk in, the warm, inviting aroma of freshly baked bagels embraces you, setting the stage for an exceptional culinary experience.

I recently had the pleasure of trying one of their savory bagels, and I must say, it was a joyous revelation. The bagel had a perfectly golden crust, dusted lightly with salt, which added just the right amount of flavor without overpowering the senses. The inside was soft, chewy, and bursting with freshness, a testament to their mastery of the bagel-making craft.

What truly elevated my experience was their exquisite cream cheese spread. It was smooth, creamy, and infused with herbs, providing a delightful contrast to the bagel's texture. The balance of flavors was impeccable, showcasing their dedication to quality and taste.

Bag of Joy Bagel Co. also offers a fantastic rotation of bagels and schmears, ensuring that there’s always something new and exciting to try. From classic favorites to unique seasonal offerings, each visit is an opportunity to discover a new flavor combination that delights the palate.

Adding to the charm of Bag of Joy Bagel Co. was the opportunity to meet the owner, Nick. His passion for bagels and commitment to his craft were evident in every detail, from the ingredients used to the friendly atmosphere of the shop. Nick's enthusiasm for creating the perfect bagel experience is infectious, and it’s clear that he genuinely cares about his customers' satisfaction.

The service at Bag of Joy Bagel Co. was just as impressive as their food. The staff was friendly, attentive, and eager to ensure that every customer left with a smile. Their passion for their craft is evident in the care they put into every order, making each visit feel special.

Whether you're in the mood for a classic bagel with a schmear or something more adventurous, Bag of Joy Bagel Co. has something to satisfy every craving. It's the perfect spot for a quick breakfast on the go or a leisurely brunch with friends. The cozy atmosphere and delicious offerings make it a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates the art of a well-made bagel.

In conclusion, Bag of Joy Bagel Co. lives up to its name by bringing pure joy with every bite. I highly recommend this delightful establishment to all bagel lovers and anyone looking for a taste of happiness...

I’m honored to have stood in line behind Joy, the first Joy to visit Bag of Joy Bagel Co. Made my day and very long wait worth it.

Staff is super nice. Looks like a family making a run at starting a business and that brings me joy.

The bagels are superb. I love a good NYC bagel, they’re so different than anything you can get in this area. The bagels at Bag of Joy are similar in texture to a NYC bagel, but with a little more softness and chew. Think of an NYC bagel gets married to a good focaccia bread and they have many babies.

The wait was long (an hour, mid morning on a Saturday) and they ran out of many flavors I wanted to try, but they’re new, so benefit of the doubt. They’ll figure out inventory and be overflowing with chewy goodness in the future.

The everything bagel I devoured was good. It had the right amount of topping, a little salty, but on in a bad way. May be from the cooking process. The schmear was legit.

I’ll return, but I’m surely coming much earlier to get my hands on an Asiago cheese bagel and some chive schmear.

EDIT: came back again, earlier. I ended up leaving. Waited 15 minutes and the line didn’t move. Probably 10-15 in line and it would take an hour. Until they fix serving customers, I can’t buy here. Looking forward to when...

Like everyone else, I waited in line for just shy of an hour. Let me start by saying this is a VERY small business, like small small. That's why it takes so long to get your order. If you don't like long lines and finally getting to the front and they're out of most flavors, then just don't go. They're not short on customers. Wait till the hype dies down and then go. No sense in complaining about the one thing the business can't control.

I got an Everything, a Chocolate Chip and a Jalapeño Cheddar. The Everything was saaaaalty AF. I scraped off as much as I could, but it was too salty to eat. The Jalapeño Cheddar and the schmears were pretty good though! Overall, it's not the best bagel I've ever had, but for Columbia it's the absolute best. The people are really nice and bubbly and you can tell they're working hard to keep the line moving. I think part of the problem is all the chit chat from customers asking questions. They're going to need a bigger space and some seating would be nice. For the love of God, someone please remove the jungle of plants in the hallway, they're a tripping hazard, I know,...

Having lived in NY for most of my life where there are bakeries and cafes everywhere you take it for granted until you can’t find a place who serves fresh bagels. Bag of Joy is a small take and go bagel place and offers limited and very delicious schmears . I was hoping to try another taken for granted staple a bacon egg and cheese and unfortunately they sell out early. I got the Asiago bagel with vegetable smear and ordered the rosemary and bacon for my bf who is also a NY native. We both enjoyed our bagels and the owner was very friendly. The bagel is photo had some bites by me before I took photo . The parking was tricky and I had to use my parallel parking skills. Recommend and will definitely be back! 5 out of 5 on my yummo scale😛

First visit due to limited shop hours and I don’t live in the city, happened to be in town for an early meeting. Came for a salt bagel and there was one left. I brought it home to toast and had one half with butter the other with cream cheese. This bagel was definitely not like the bagels of coastal CT/NYC where I lived for decades. This bagel was thinner, dark brown which to me means over cooked and had a sprinkle of salt. I was hoping for a plump, chewy bagel with a thick salt coating. I was a bit shocked at the price for a single bagel. Over $4, which I imagine is because of the low volume. If this is thier norm it will be a one and done for me. I wish them success but I doubt I will return.
