I recently had the pleasure of trying one of their savory bagels, and I must say, it was a joyous revelation. The bagel had a perfectly golden crust, dusted lightly with salt, which added just the right amount of flavor without overpowering the senses. The inside was soft, chewy, and bursting with freshness, a testament to their mastery of the bagel-making craft.
What truly elevated my experience was their exquisite cream cheese spread. It was smooth, creamy, and infused with herbs, providing a delightful contrast to the bagel's texture. The balance of flavors was impeccable, showcasing their dedication to quality and taste.
Bag of Joy Bagel Co. also offers a fantastic rotation of bagels and schmears, ensuring that there’s always something new and exciting to try. From classic favorites to unique seasonal offerings, each visit is an opportunity to discover a new flavor combination that delights the palate.

Read moreI’m honored to have stood in line behind Joy, the first Joy to visit Bag of Joy Bagel Co. Made my day and very long wait worth it.
Staff is super nice. Looks like a family making a run at starting a business and that brings me joy.
The bagels are superb. I love a good NYC bagel, they’re so different than anything you can get in this area. The bagels at Bag of Joy are similar in texture to a NYC bagel, but with a little more softness and chew. Think of an NYC bagel gets married to a good focaccia bread and they have many babies.
The wait was long (an hour, mid morning on a Saturday) and they ran out of many flavors I wanted to try, but they’re new, so benefit of the doubt. They’ll figure out inventory and be overflowing with chewy goodness in the future.
The everything bagel I devoured was good. It had the right amount of topping, a little salty, but on in a bad way. May be from the cooking process. The schmear was legit.
I’ll return, but I’m surely coming much earlier to get my hands on an Asiago cheese bagel and some chive schmear.
EDIT: came back again, earlier. I ended up leaving. Waited 15 minutes and the line didn’t move. Probably 10-15 in line and it would take an hour. Until they fix serving customers, I can’t buy here. Looking forward to when...
Read moreLike everyone else, I waited in line for just shy of an hour. Let me start by saying this is a VERY small business, like small small. That's why it takes so long to get your order. If you don't like long lines and finally getting to the front and they're out of most flavors, then just don't go. They're not short on customers. Wait till the hype dies down and then go. No sense in complaining about the one thing the business can't control.
I got an Everything, a Chocolate Chip and a Jalapeño Cheddar. The Everything was saaaaalty AF. I scraped off as much as I could, but it was too salty to eat. The Jalapeño Cheddar and the schmears were pretty good though! Overall, it's not the best bagel I've ever had, but for Columbia it's the absolute best. The people are really nice and bubbly and you can tell they're working hard to keep the line moving. I think part of the problem is all the chit chat from customers asking questions. They're going to need a bigger space and some seating would be nice. For the love of God, someone please remove the jungle of plants in the hallway, they're a tripping hazard, I know,...
