My wife and I dined at CC's last night, on our 43rd wedding anniversary. We were first-timers here, and the experience was top-notch. The food was excellent, the wait staff was on their toes, and the atmosphere was good enough. We both ordered the 12 oz. strips, which were cooked exactly to our liking; the salads were creative and delicious; and the side dishes of pea pods were a really refreshing break from the usual "autumn mix," so extra kudos to the chef for that. We also ordered an extra-cost side of jalapeno twice baked potato to share, which was more than enough for two, and was frankly tastier than we expected; definitely worth it. My wife ordered wine that she was familiar with and loved it. My cocktail was also blended exactly the way I make it at home. Kyle gave us excellent service from start to finish, and was very gracious with a dessert to take home when he learned it was our anniversary. Good man! The atmosphere was only OK due to a table of four men who were far louder than they needed to be, but once they had food in their mouths the din decreased. And besides, that's not the restaurant's fault anyway. Two minor things, however...First, we agree totally with those reviewers who mention the antiquated and time-wasting reservation system. For those, like us, who want to plan an event for a specific evening, getting through on the phone, and only at 11 a.m., is a crapshoot. We've tried several times over the last eight months to get through to no avail, even with both of us calling separately. Imagine the surprise when we actually did connect, and on our anniversary, no less. We weren't even going to attempt it but wanted to use a gift card we've had for months. Be advised to have a backup plan! Secondly, the wait staff seemed to be in a huge hurry to clear the table while we were eating, as in taking the bread plates and butter knives when there was still uneaten bread on them, and a half loaf still on the bread board. This happened several times until I asked why the rush...Kyle seemed surprised to hear a customer push back and things were better after that. Still, we've never eaten in a "nice" restaurant that did this. We felt it was odd, and intrusive. We can only guess that the owner has instructed his staff to do this. Why, we don't know. Will that keep us from returning? No. I'll just tell them "hands off please." Will the reservation method keep us from returning? Maybe, but that would be the owner's...
Read moreY'all I was that customer yesterday and I can't stop obsessing over it. The table next to us was making the worst comments, I wanted to throat punch this girl.... Transphobic douchebaggery at it's finest. Well I'm not that type of woman anymore, cops and scenes are beneath me.
It was so bad and kept going on for so long I got up from my seat, went to the bar and started angry crying (I hate that I do that, who cries when they're mad?) I apologized and begged for any other table.
They were super accommodating, offered a round of free drinks (which I refused, they can't control their customers) and moved us immediately. So professional, so kind! The staff rallied on a busy night to magically shift the experience into another room and did it with a level of professionalism and understanding I'm not sure I would have had.
My server was excellent! So considerate and played the game face as we disrupted his flow and made him wait on us clear on the other side of the restaurant. Alex if you're here you're the real MVP! I hope you made all the money yesterday!!! Also, in hindsight I wish my wino self would have "accidentally" spilled something on that girl....
Now back to the food, we'd never been in before and the condensed menu for Valentine's was a little disappointing but completely understandable. When you're doing that kind of volume you've got to adjust the options to streamline the process. My only recommendation would have been to have more detail as to a "salad" especially with allergens. One person at our table can't have nuts and another blue cheese. We should have asked before hand and mentioned allergies but didn't. Alex came to the rescue! He removed and replaced them quickly and with Grace.
We had a vegetarian at our table as well and they made her a fantastic looking plate of grilled veggies!
Our steaks and lobster we're delicious and cooked perfectly! Coming from 15yrs in the restaurant industry I constantly struggle with choosing to eat out when myself or my girlfriend usually goes home saying I would have spent half that and made it better. I'm happy to report the expense was definitely worth it and our friends who recommended we try CC's were right.
This will be a date night spot in our...
Read moreThis place is a joke! Go to Chris McD’s across the street. I called on a Sunday and asked if I could place a to go order (I have a toddler and CC’s atmosphere is not very kid friendly but my husband and I wanted steaks). I was told that they didn’t do to-go orders over the phone because they had problems in the past with people not paying or picking up their orders (understandable). I offered to pay over the phone and they said no but I could come in and place a to-go order. So I went in and placed the order. Half of my steak was fat but no big deal rest of food was okay. The following week I go in on a Saturday to place a to-go order. I was told that they don’t do to-go orders on weekends and I told them I was just there last weekend and had no problem with placing a to-go order?! The bartender was kind of rude and went to get his manager. Manager comes out and wasn’t much better. I explained I was told last week that as long as I came in i could place a to-go order. Manager says no we don’t do to-go orders on weekends I said I was here Sunday and they did. Well apparently Sunday isn’t considered the weekend so the manager says I can only do to-go orders Sunday-Thursday. Here we are the following Thursday. I figure let’s give this place another chance I mean we’re paying $75+ for to go food plus tipping with no service needed you’d think they’d be a little nicer but nope. I call tonight before driving all the way over there and ask if I can come in to place a to-go order. The gentlemen says no they don’t do to go orders at all. I am literally dumbfounded. I tell him that I was there on Saturday and was told by the manager that they only do to-go orders Sunday-Thursday and now they’re saying they don’t do to go orders at all??? The guy on the phone had no response. I am DONE with this place! The service sucks! The food isn’t that great for the price and they are just completely unorganized and incompetent. Get it together and get your staff on the same page. I will never try to...
