China House — Restaurant in Columbia

If you're looking for some of the best American-Chinese food around, you'll find it here. Oka,y so this place looks like a "hole in the wall" type restaurant, and for the most part, it is! The food menus are all faded like they have been up on the wall for 30 years. The "seating tables" look like they were taken from an old abandoned taco bell. And this place is way too small for comfortable family dining (I've actually noticed that this is a common setup typology for small Asian Restaurants around here.)

Well, I'm not going to lie, it's an eye sore to look at from the inside. But, that's where my complaints about this little place end. The food here is freaking DA BOMB! No joke! The General Tso/Cho (whatever) Chicken here is freaking amazing! The Pot Stickers, same! Fried Rice, also amazing... the egg roles were okay, but def not bad!

Yeah the food is pretty much all very good, you almost forget that it looks like a makeshift dining place. The food did take a little long to make, about a 20 minute wait, but honestly, it was well worth it in the end. I can definitely say that I would recommend this establishment to anyone who loves Chinese food.

My only suggestion would be to order your food ahead of time so you can beat the long lines that form in this place. Again, it's a really small place so it gets crowded really fast in there with just 5-6 customers waiting on food.

this place has gone down hill. i was craving shrimp fried rice and wings this evening. this food has zero flavor! it’s just yellow rice with fried onions and egg. the wings have no flavor either. i could’ve made this my damn self at home. i only gave them one star because they appear to be clean from what i could see. as a matter of fact the past 3 times i’ve been, the food was the same way. i kept going back because once upon a time the food was delicious. they must have changed cooks. whatever the case may be i won’t be back.

update!!! i decided to run this place back and i’m so happy i did! the food was hot, fresh and delicious! that was also 10 min prior to closing. i will definitely be back! the food was how it was when i first started coming here. sorry no pics bc the food is...

They offer phone-in take-out ONLY!!! Service had been great, up until today. I called at 5:05 pm to place my order. I was told it would take 25 minutes for it to be ready (which is strange because they usually take 10-15 minutes). I arrive at 5:40 pm (giving them some extra time) and there was about 6 upset customers waiting outside the restaurant. They had also called way ahead of time and had to still wait. I ask for mine and of course, it wasn't ready. I finally got it at 5:55 pm. So if you're hungry when ordering, I suggest you have some patience because you will need it. Food is okay. Unfortunately it's our only Chinese food...
