Silver Fox Grill — Restaurant in South Carolina

Came in around 3pm, ordered the Wednesday special "Fish & Shrimp dinner" for 8.99 they had advertized on their daily specials whiteboard by the front door. Were told "We're out of shrimp. You can still get just a fish dinner though." Okay, so you're out of the special of the day at 3pm before dinner rush even starts? Fine. "I'll have the flounder dinner, and a butterfinger milkshake." Ended up being about $13 after tax. After waitimg about 20 mins, they bring me my food. A plate of pre-frozen crinkle cut french fries, and a half of a fish sandwich. As in, a piece of dry white bread and a single, tiny super thin piece of fish that doesn't even fully cover the bread. It's like half the size of the filets they give you 3 or 4 of at most other places when you order a fish dinner. So I'm not happy. Definitely not a good value. Then I ask if they have cocktail sauce, and they bring me a little prepackaged fast food pack of Monarch cocktail sauce, its obviously been around a long time, as the outside of the package is all scratched up looking, and when I open it, the sauce is brown and looks off. So I just eat the little piece of very overcooked fish with no sauce. To top it off, the milkshake was watery and almost flavorless, tasted like light ice cream or ice milk and water or skim milk, definitely not a good creamy milkshake. And I paid more for this meal than I would pay for a nice meal at many full service restaurants. I normally always like to support the little guys, but I cannot reccommend this place based on my experience, and I will not be back...

Absolutely, the BEST burger I have ever had. I worked in the service industry for 14 years, so I am very picky on how food is prepared and the quality of taste. Every bite I took was amazing. I couldn’t get over it. I don’t usually get tomato on my burger anymore, because most restaurants get unripe hard tomatoes. But Isaac (the manager) came to the window and said, “Did you want tomato?” And I shared my concern of “gross tomatoes” with him and he took the time to go and pull two slices of tomato off the line and showed me that he gets good ripe tomatoes. Drove from Sumter to see what all the fuss was about. There was about 20-30 minute wait but that was cool because the atmosphere is pleasant. (It was packed & they were working their butts off in the kitchen) TV's & fountain drinks to enjoy while you wait. You can enjoy a seat inside or outdoors. Our server carefully took our order at the table instead of the counter (she saw these old folks hobble in, Lol). All the food was great! Onion rings, chilli cheese fries, Philly steak sandwich combo, Tilapia & shrimp platter, tea & chocolate shake. We got a takeout order of wings for Superbowl.
