Que! Bueno Mexican Bar & Grill — Restaurant in South Carolina

I love giving good reviews when I can. I don’t like to give bad reviews.. but this just needs to be said -

I was excited to order fish tacos because this is one of the only Mexican places close by that even serves fish. Oh my gosh. They were awful. The amount of fish spread between 3 tacos was barely enough to fill 1 taco, and it stunk. It smelled like fish guts. I did try my boyfriends beef tacos and they were OK but they made his stomach hurt.

My dad ordered Alambres which is basically grilled beef with onions and peppers (hard to mess up in my opinion) Well, it looked like the cooks got the steak and trimmings mixed up, and instead served my dad trimmings. It was just stringy, chewy, nasty bits that looked like stuff you’d want to take off the steak before cooking it.

Also, when we picked up the take out there was 1 small personal bag of chips in with our meals (maybe 10-15 chips in the bag) . And there were 5 meals in the bag for 5 hungry people who all wanted chips. When I asked for more chips, the server acted like they didn’t want to give me anymore, but reluctantly gave up 2 more bags. Still not enough but I didn’t want to stand there and argue.

Overall - very stingy, small portions for a Mexican restaurant. Places like San Jose give you enough food to have leftovers no matter what you order. I was still hungry after trying to eat my soggy, fish...

Well of course when they first opened the line was out the door, and for the first 6 months it was fairly good, not great but not bad. The either due to a new hire or loss of someone, the food took a dive. Now we did take out as the atmosphere was predominantly adult Males drinking beer and having a great time, which is fine, however it doesn't make for a family with children an ideal dinner table. So we got it to go, food was all soggy/ wet actually poured water out of three of them, the ones that were cooked. When I called back and spoke with the owner, I was berated and told that it was my fault the goo d was cold and wet, as it had been prepared 3-5 minutes after we hung up the phone only we live 10 minutes away and we're told 20 minutes so at 15 all should have been well but no. So he comped me one of the dinners out of 3. So given the chance 2 more visits? Same problem only it's not acknowledged now, but now add to that the food has taken a nosedive as it's soggy berrietoes and corn chips are not only that but entreè s are not terrible to much salt, under cooked or just completely off the ingredients defined in their menu. It's a shame too as a really decent restaurant would thrive there, I don't r see this one thriving. Sorry but save your money and go to TacoBell it's better even not being real food...

Chose this place over San Jose to try something new. BIG BIG mistake! It was not busy so we expected good service and food. We sat at table more than 5 mins til server greeted us. Ordered shrimp dip with pico on side plus entrees. Was very excited to try it!! Told waitress we wanted appetizer first, she said ok and brought out the pico. Wellllll entrees came out and we was like where is shrimp dip? The manager came to table asking if we still wanted the dip SMH we told him take it off bill. The steak tacos were bland and more lettuce than anything. Asked waitress to bring bill and it was incorrect. She charged for full side of pico when we said we wanted pico that came on shrimp dip on the side. Her n the manager stood by our table a couple minutes discussing in front of us what to do, who made mistake etc. This establishment's management is awful and none of us will be back. I will make sure to let my foodie network know. Im glad I didnt bring my kids. If I was manager, a free shrimp dip would have been given and taco meal comped They could care less as long as they paid! Not good business, I left hungry...
