Dickey's Barbecue Pit — Restaurant in Columbia

Had probably one of the most worst experiences at a restaurant last night in my whole entire life. To say the least I’m very disappointed with the staff at this location they are by far the most disrespectful people I’ve ever encountered… My party of 3 came into the restaurant at about 7:05 on 09/20/2022 with vouchers for a free sandwich (I’ve never tried this restaurant and the place we live at gave out free vouchers) we all ordered on the app to make it simple but once we walk in one of the employees attitude towards us was absolutely terrible, screaming across the restaurant to us “I LOVE MAKING FREE SANDWICHES” with a very rude and sarcastic tone. One of the people in my party didn’t handle that situation very lightly and told the employee “If you offer the promotion to the public why are you complaining about making a sandwich” and what we thought was the manager said that this location isn’t a participating location. Well I hate to break it to what I thought was the manager but you can most certainly take the coupon code off the app or make corporate handle that if it’s that big of a deal. I myself actually got more then just the sandwich so I didn’t expect to be disrespected by the employees since I was paying customer. The snarky comments out of the employee and manager were very uncalled for the attitude was absolutely terrible as well. Normally I avoid making nasty reviews like this on businesses but believe me what happened last night I 100 percent am sure they broke most of the company core values. I went through the drive-through this evening (6/18/16) and I must comment on how impressed I was with the customer service! The young man running the drive through (had a paw tattoo on his neck) went out of his way to provide recommendations. Without me having to ask, he provided me with a sample of the potato salad I was asking about. He put so much energy into being friendly, which is a rarity these days! This boy will undoubtedly be a successful businessman some day.... but in the meantime, Dickeys should hold on to him for as long as possible.

While waiting at the drive through window, my brat of a dog was on my lap barking. One of the cooks in the back thoughtfully came to the window and offered a tiny sample cup of pulled pork for my dog. I was so impressed by the thoughtfulness!

Finally, the food was probably the best BBQ I've tasted (and I'm from K.C.)!

In closing, food was delicious and service was amazing! I can't tell you how refreshing the customer service was! Thank you and keep up...

Don't pass up this great family restaurant, especially if you like real smoked food (pork ribs, pulled pork, brisket, chicken or sausage). My favorites is the smoked brisket by the pound, with baked beans, green beans with bacon and onion, fried okra and cabbage coleslaw sides.

When you place your brisket order, they take a whole brisket (wrapped in cellophane) out of the warming oven right in front of you, and slice it any way you like it. It can't get it any fresher than that. When you order for takeout, they give you all the paper plates, napkins and plastic ware you need. The staff is always friendly and you always get all the free ice cream you want.
