I stopped into Hanks Coffee during my cross-country road trip, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to recharge. The vibes and aesthetic here are exactly what a soul like me looks for; Cozy, intentional, and rooted in the kind of community energy you can feel as soon as you walk in.

McKinley, the barista, crafted one of the best Americanos I’ve ever had (and I’ve had my fair share from coast to coast). Beyond that, she took the time to share some local spots worth checking out, which really made me feel connected to TN in a way I wouldn’t have otherwise. I love finding new coffee spots, and this Hank’s location near Columbia’s Arts District is now my top pick! The cozy, small-town atmosphere instantly won me over. Their coffee was fantastic, and the pastries were absolutely delightful. The owners were so friendly, taking time to chat and thank us for choosing their place to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. We had planned to hop between coffee shops, but this spot was so perfect we stayed put. Hanks is a wonderful addition to Columbia. I’ve gone multiple times since they opened and in the 4 years we’ve lived in the area, I have never seen the Arts district building so full! They not only have the BEST coffee in Middle TN but also big hearts for the community and the other businesses around them. I had no idea there was a bakery right below them, the owner of Hanks (Josh ) told us they made the best sandwiches, and he’s not wrong!
