This is a terrible environment for anybody with anxiety, autism, add/hd or any sort of disorder that alters social interaction. You guys should really clarify where the mobile pick up area is. Put a sign, make it user-friendly. The guest should not be confused and nervous to enter. This happens every time I come in. One time I came in and picked up my mobile order from the same area where people ordered in-store would pick up. Today, I came in with my anxiety through the roof because I knew I would be faced with instant confusion on the way in whilst being ignored by the employees. That’s exactly what happened. I walked in and there were too many people at the register. I moved to the pick up area because of this and I figured, if this is the wrong place to pick up, I’ll know that when I ask as an employee comes up to the counter with someone else’s order. I said something and the employee probably doesn’t know English because he just pointed (not in the direction of anything significant, it appeared he may have been pointing to the drink being prepared. I cannot see back there as the guest). So to me, that says “it’s almost ready”. I stood there, again, anxiety through the roof waiting for my order to come up. It never did because clearly I was in the wrong spot and I’m not sure why the employee didn’t try and grab somebody else to figure out what I was talking about if he really didn’t know english. My heart starts racing at the thought of speaking up again. I move to the cash register and of course, I see my drink on the shelf, meaning I stood there being ignored for absolutely no reason when my order was ready before I even came inside. Not to mention, I was in everyone else’s way because they had ordered drinks too. I was standing at the front of the counter because I had been ordered with my app. I had to move out of the way a few times as I was being ignored to make sure others could get their drink. Embarrassing. I don’t get why someone would see a customer just standing in their business and not wonder/ask what they’re there for. I spoke up again and I said it slow this time “I. have. a. mobile. order.😑” & it was finally handed to me. I didn’t even want the drink anymore. I almost threw up...
Read moreI really enjoy this place when I'm in the area. The drinks are good and the decor is nice.
However, my last visit left me a little miffed. I could tell it was a bit busy and the staff were working hard, however, I waited at the counter a full minute while the staff refused to even look in my direction. Even the young man who stood maybe a foot and a half directly in front of me didn't look up from what he was doing to acknowledge me.
Don't get me wrong, I didnt expect anyone to stop what they were doing to greet me, I promise I don't think I'm more important than the customers before me. Hell, I wouldn't have even been miffed if I didn't get a smile. All I really needed was a quick "one sec" or "be right with you" from any one of them and I would have left with no complaints.
Ive never gone to a business and had staff straight up pretend I'm not there...
Read moreMy 16 year old daughter was at Columbia Mall today waiting for me to pick her up. She decided to go to Kung fu tea and asked that I pick her up from there. A few minutes later she called back and said, “I’m going to walk back to the Mall because they said I can’t stay because I’m loitering.” I was in a lot of traffic and tired from the day, so without thinking I said okay. After I few seconds I thought about what she said, by this time, I was at the Mall. I drove pass thinking they must not have a sitting area. I was shockingly surprised that there were several tables and chairs!
I picked up my daughter and I alone, went inside, described my daughter and told them what was said. Their reply was non chalant and seemingly uncaring. I told them how upset and offended I was and it seems very racist! I will be contacting the Corporate office in...
