Cold Stone Creamery & Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory — Restaurant in Columbia

I have came to this location 3 times hoping for improvement because it is the closest to my new home and i LOVE Rocky Mountain. This location disappoints me every time... let me say why. 1.) They have fly catchers in the display windows next to the apples ... & they have more fruit flies in the display windows than apples !! 2.) Every time i come to try the pecan apples (my favorite) this location is always sold out of them as if they only make 5 a day. A couple days ago i called in advance to ask if they had Pecan apples available , the person who answered said we only have 2 left , would you like for me to put them aside for you? I said yes please i’m on my way. 20 minutes later , I arrive and go to the display window & see the two pecan apples still in there . So without acknowledging that im the person who placed the order to hold the two apples, I asked one of the ladies at the desk can i please get the two in the display window. She hurriedly gave them to me without mentioning someone else (me on the phone) already called to ask for her to place them aside . So if I (the person on the phone ) would have came in shortly after, the apples would have been gone already . Then what were they going to do for that customer who just drove all the way to this location? It just made me realize that their customer service is not up to par and certain things need to be fixed in order for this location...

I went with my husband, our two kids, and three of their friends. The experience was absolutely wonderful! The ice cream was fresh, creamy, and full of flavor and the portions were generous too. My husband loved it so much he even went back for seconds!

What really stood out was the service. The staff were so kind and patient, even with my kids and their excited (and noisy) orders. The owner even noticed how much we were enjoying ourselves and treated us to extra chocolate dipped int strawberry fruit - such a thoughtful surprise from the house.

More recently, I ordered a 12x18 ice cream cake for a farewell program at my company. It was a huge hit! Everyone loved it, and it disappeared faster than any other cake in our team’s history. Even those who usually avoid sweets couldn’t resist.

I went here with my family after dinner. They got there before me, so they were already eating their ice cream when I was walking up. There wasn't a long wait in line to place my order. The staff there was friendly and attentive. I got what I ordered fairly quickly. I love how many varieties of ice flavors and toppings they have here. They have something for everyone. My only recommendation for someone driving there is to park in the parking garage across the street. The garage is diagonally across from them. Me being from Baltimore didn't know this and I kept driving forward and drove into the parking lot at Columbia Mall by the movie theater, book store, and outside restaurants. I drove around a few times and couldn't find a parking spot. I had to call my brother and ask him where to park. Now I'll know next...
