By far one of the most worst services we've had in Columbia, and we've had some bad experiences.
We came in on a Friday, around 5:45-6pm. There were about five tables that were currently sitting.
We sat down, ordered our food. Our appetizers and side dishes came out in a timely manner. 30 minutes go by.
45 minute go by.
Our sides for our entrees are getting cold.
The waiter doesn't come by to check up on the table, after we receive the appetizers / sides for the entree. We needed drink refills, but again, didn't stop by. We pulled the manager over at the 45 minute mark. "Oh, it's next, we're busy with to go orders"
Two guys got seated after that and got there food within 10 minutes. At this point, it's 7:15pm.
I get up and ask what is going on, we have been waiting over an hour and there were people getting their food in no time.
I get a litany of excuses. One, our order didn't get put in. If the order wasn't put in, then how did the manager tell us earlier that our food was coming?
After a few more excuses she just gave up with the excuses, because they all contradicted with each other.
When they did finally bring it out, it didn't come with the sides, the other sides we paid for were all cold that came with it. Instead of complaining about it and getting it more messed up, we just wanted to get the kids fed, and leave.
They offered the chicken for free and 50% off everything else. It was still around 50 bucks, which is fine. I went up to the bar to pay for the bill and the waiter couldn't even hand me my hard to sign. He put the card and receipt for me to sign, two seats down for me, for me to get it when I was at the end of the bar.
They prioritize their to go orders before dine-in folks, and waitstaff doesn't check up on tables after you get your food. It wasn't even that busy in the dining room, and I can...
Read moreMy mother and I used to be huge fans of bonchon, but now I don't think I could ever stomach even the smell of it again. We went here to grab lunch and to say we were dissapointed is an understatement. We ordered the spicy fried chicken with a side of fries and both were extremely oily and soggy to boot. To the point where oil from the box and chicken itself was literally dripping onto the seats as we ate it in the car and the fries were squishable without much resistance in comparison to the crunchiness I'm used to. The chicken also seemed to lack much of the sauce that we come to bonchon for. After about two or three pieces each, both of us felt physically sick and had to roll down the windows because of how nauseous we became because of all that oil. I felt queasy for the rest of the day afterwards and couldn't eat again. I don't know what happened to that box of chicken, but I do know that there's no way it can be the standard for this food franchise. Maybe they decided to give us an old batch, again Im not sure how this was allowed to happen. I don't know if it's this particular establishment, considering the first one we tried was in ellicott city and we enjoyed it, but I sadly don't think I'll ever be able to spend 30 bucks on food at bonchon ever again. At this point I've stopped recommending bonchon to my friends and warn them how sick it made me, but if you do decide to go, save yourself the distress and try the...
Read moreChicken strips and bao buns were just horrible. I don’t want to be that person on google reviews like ranting and roasting them but let’s just say I didn’t wanna cook dinner so I got take out, ended up cooking anyway. I’m not really the person to throw food I BOUGHT away, I’m actually pretty cheap so yeah it was that bad. Two bites of bao and tossed it and like 3/4 of the chicken strips and threw it all away.
Wouldn’t not recommend, especially take out cuz the food might be bad but you can’t do anything about it as opposed to sitting down for service there.
Anyway If you’ve read this far you’re prob still interested so here’s the rest of the tea: the bao had spicy Mayo on it which regrettably when ordering online I should have asked for none of it / on the side but alas I didn’t expect it to be as truly nauseating as it was. The chicken strips were tragically disappointing. Like the ice cream parlor at the beach on your 8th birthday has a long line and when you get to the front they’re out of your favourite flavor type disappointing. Mad I spent $40 and don’t really see a path to redeeming that, hence my long winded salty review. Only plus side was their spicy flavoring was good and the wait staff there are very … nice...
