They’re only getting a 1 because I’m not alblevto do 0. I’m visually impaired. Very low vision and AMC use to be AMAZING when it came to accommodations but as of late this has been falling short. No, I’m not looking for special treatment or anything like that but I am looking to be able to enjoy a movie like any other individual. 2 weeks ago I went to see Infinity war with my husband and the woman working at the desk was incredibly rude and refused to help me with getting a descriptive audio device claiming theater 7 did not offer it and that Disney did not make it accessible which was BS. I had seen the movie a few days prior in the same theater with the descriptive audio no problem. She refused to even bother to check just because she was set on being correct. When I asked to speak to a manager she got upset with me as if my blindness was an inconvenience to her. That is completely unacceptable. Disabled or not I am still a paying customer and her attitude/actions were unacceptable.
Fast forward to today, we had been calling since 3pm trying to ask about the Solo movie premier and never got an answer. People would just end the call. Which is again rude and unprofessional. We looked on the website and there was nothing on there saying tickets weren’t available or that the entire evening was booked for a private event. When we arrived and attempted to buy tickets the employee didn’t bother to tell us that all the tickets were sold out she just kept saying we wouldn’t get the opening night items. I believe that if you sell out the theaters you should at least state it on your website or have enough staff for at least one of them to be able to answer a phone. I wish I could say I won’t be doing business with this AMC anymore but sadly I can’t since. My options are limited when it comes to accessibility. I hope AMC considers training it’s employess on how to treat customers, especially those who are disabled. We don’t mean to inconvenience the employees, I just unfortunately require accommodations to be able to do a...
Read moreVisited this theatre for an IMAX viewing of "Apocalypse Now." Which was a Fathom events movie screening (one of those 'limited 40yr anniversary screening' ) as Coppola intended (largest screen possible).
First impression walking in was how nice the front area looked, including the snack bar area and restroom.
The theatre that I was seated in, however, was filthy. It was (unfortunately) how I used to remember going to movies, with the fear of letting anything in my possession touching the floor. Footsteps squeaked and ripped as they were prying themselves away from the candy coating floor, as well as under my assigned seat a meal of at least two peoples' empty boxes and food.
The chairs were dated and uncomfortable, (as any other theater that I've experienced in the last couple years has had the upgraded chairs, more actual room for people to set, so that you don't have to shove the person's foot off your arm rest while they are sitting behind you).
Not that I could justify it, but the average "item and a drink (i.e. popcorn, candy) was pushing the $20 mark, though you could see the staff was more interested in playing around, as I was able to watch the line stay static and non moving for at least the five minutes I observed.
Picture quality was good, as we were in the IMAX theater. that being said, considering that's considered the largest screen in this theater, I would have expected a little more cleanliness or any active action towards maintaining their establishment. (Mind you, anyone watching the movie knew that they were committing themselves to a 202 minute long movie, however sitting on the floor would have been just as efficient as the seats, as I still couldn't tell what had more gum.
I guess it if you live in Columbia, this is probably your only option for a movie theater so it is still an okay place to watch movies. that being said, I would wait until they do their update and remodel like the rest of the theaters before I would...
Read moreI was very happy with our visit to AMC, took the family to see Incredibles 2. Everyone enjoyed the movie, the theater and the popcorn. We typically don't go to AMC, it's about 35 minutes away and Cinemark at Arundel Mills and Regal at Waugh Chapel are closer. But AMC had given me a free large birthday popcorn, the Coke app has a free large Coke at AMC and tickets to a morning show are cheap. So, of course we drove there. We we're good we did, $5.79 tickets are great. Yeah it wasn't individual reserved seats, but still stadium seating, cup holders, reclining chairs with raisable arms. Much better for sharing a popcorn. A lot of extra do have reserved seating if you prefer with the individual fancy recliners, they just cost more. We showef up ten minutes early for the movie and had no issues getting five seats together. Everyone used the bathroom, then sat. I went to get popcorn, which was quick, and free with the AMC app sure to my birthday. The Coke app couldn't geolocate me accurately, so I paid. But I was pleasantly surprised at eight Coke Freestyle machines. So fill up want an issue, no lines, machines had all options stocked. And of course you get to fill it yourself. At the end of the movie, we even got refills on both for free! Come machine doesn't require a line, but popcorn does. All in all, AMC had kept the theater in good condition. It still looks new and not dated at all. They have good deals with the cheap early shows and $5 tickets on Tuesdays. Yes, did is crazy overpriced, but it is at all theaters, so no difference there. The popcorn was good and fresh and the Coke Freestyle Machines are nice, especially since they have a good number (unlike some restaurants where they are a nuisance due to the wait). We've decided that next time we want a family movie, AMC it will be. It's worth the drive for the cheap tickets at what is still a top...
