AnA Shawarma — Restaurant in Columbus

Amazing chicken shawarma! The appearance of it resembles the type that you get at NYC gyro carts. This was absolutely amazing. You’re able to taste each individual component and it melds so nicely with each other. The rice was great texture as well as flavor. The chicken was not dry. The salad was a nice balance (though not a healthy salad). The white sauce brings it all together. I wasn’t able to finish the whole platter in one sitting and I’ve never been more excited to eat left overs the next day and it was still delicious. 10+/10 for the chicken shawarma.

We also ordered wings. Sweet chili and spicy BBQ. I may be wrong in the name of the bbq sauce. For me, these are pretty standard wings. They are naked (not breaded) and then tossed in sauce. The chicken was a little dry, but still decent. Though, my husband likes them more. 8/10. As we live 20 min away, we would not drive here just for the wings (but would def drive here for the chicken shawarma!), but if we are around, my husband would get them again.

I went when it was about 8 degrees outside and didn’t realize we should have ordered ahead, though, you can still order there (just enter, and ring the doorbell next to the AnA sign). The menu offers a wide variety of options, I decided to try their chicken sandwich , and it exceeded all expectations. perfectly complemented by fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and their special sauce. The fries were crispy and golden, just the way I like them.

When I went in I was terrified. I hate trying new places because I always leave disappointed. As I walked in shaking, the owner with his marvelous beard approached me. He asked me how I was doing, I didn’t care for his question, I immediately asked him if I could touch his beard. He said “only if you try my delicious platter.” He took the $20 out of my pocket and I ate his amazing platter that absolutely changed my life. I was about to start bawling from the flavor.
