I would have given zero stars if possible, this was the worst dinning experience I have had in a long time. My sister and I wanted to meet up for dinner and she wanted to try Applebee's. We was greeted warmly and seated right away, and we even had Jess our server show up rather quickly to get our drink order. Jess brought our soft drinks and took our appetizer order and our entree order as well, and that was the end of our pleasantries to this dinning experience. We sat and talked and caught up and about 25 minutes after taking our appetizer order Jess brought an appetizer but not what we ordered. I asked her where the rest of the order was cause we order the classic combo and all she brought was the boneless chicken, she looked at me and asked isn't what you ordered? I had to let her know what we ordered and then she took that appetizer and told us that she we get our order right and have it back soon. Another 25 minutes go by and we haven't even seen Jess let alone any food, so I stopped someone and asked to speak to the manager. Not long after a young man comes out and I explain to him the we had been there over 45 mins and still nothing to eat, he asked what we had ordered and then told us that he would have food out to us very soon. About 10 minutes later we had our appetizer but it wasn't hot and the young lady that brought it didn't even bring plates with it. Again I had to stop someone and ask them for plates for our food, and a few minutes later Jess shows back up with an attitude and was very short with us. Then about 20 minutes later our entrees arrived and our food was ice cold. We asked for the manager again and when he came out we let him know that we didn't want the food cause it was cold and that we would pay for the appetizer and drinks. He didn't say anything at all just took away the cold food and then brought the check back. Waitress, her name was Peachy I believe, was inattentive and would be asked for additional waters or refills, only to come back 15 minutes later without it. This happened 4 times. During the orders, she would ask what we wanted, then interrupt is to tell us some story. I find that odd, but whatever. Then, after an hour she comes to the table to say that the order has disappeared from the machine. She says that she going to re-enter the order, and the food should be right out. 25 minutes later, our food finally shows up.
At this point, it's too late for us to really eat as it was pass 9 o clock and some of the party suffer from heart burn if eating super late. Total we were there for almost 2 hours, only 20 minutes with our food. The food was ok, nothing great. It's an Applebee's, but honestly I've had a better burger at Wendy's
The big detractor was the service though. Clearly, there were other issues in the section. People had been waiting on checks for 30 minutes (older couple trying to pay with cash), A couple with a toddler had some kind of issue with a special order, people waiting on things for extremely long times, etc. A manager was going around, talking to people. My party just wanted to leave, so we just paid the check at the table kiosk and left. Apparently it was bad enough, a group of people were outside discussing the terrible service.
Look, it's an Applebee's. I'm not expecting amazing things, it's cheap casual dining. Usually, I'm cool with taking our drinks and food orders, bring out the food and drinks, and never really seeing them again once we get once we ordered. Read moreEvery time that I have ordered from this location there seems to be an issue. Whether something was made incorrectly or some part of my food order is missing from my delivery order. When contacted the issue never seems to be 100% resolved. Typically I get promised a refund, weeks go by and I’m told they have to contact the processing dept for refunding my card, a few more weeks go by and they offer a gift card for the amount of the order, I’ll use the gift card to give them another chance just for them to mess my order up again. This final time I placed an order for $47.51, of course I was missing my drink and my order was incorrect. I submit a complaint online, the district manager Keith Lees emails me, I specify that I want my money back and he sends me a virtual gift card for $25. I respond to his email stating he can void the gift card because I would like my money back. Not sure how $25 is equivalent to $47 anyways. He then tells me to allow 3-5 business days for the refund. I have been going back and forth since 8/10/24 with this issue. The district manager stopped responding to my emails after about a week, I have not received my money back yet. Every time I call customer service they escalate this case to advise that someone will contact me but nobody does so I call the check the status just to be told that they don’t have an update. It’s incredibly unprofessional for a district manager to no longer handle issues that are his responsibility.
