The price says $7.99 for the chicken meal. Just so you know it does not come with a vegetable for free. She will use her accent to her advantage to make it seem like a miscommunication but she does it to every customer. She will say “your meat and your vegetable?” Without mentioning that the vegetable costs extra. I saw her do it on the phone to people while I was eating inside as well. Also, if you add more than one vegetable, you pay the same price but they give you less of each vegetable the more you pay/add on. I got literally 6 pieces of broccoli when I added onion and broccoli to my order when the person I was with only got broccoli and had 13-17 peices. They also gave me less onion then if I were to only pay for the onion. The egg yolk sauce also costs extra but they do not tell you. So it’s very easy to walk in thinking you will spend 7.99 for a cheap fast meal, but end up spending $11-12.00 (which isn’t bad) it’s just the sneaky business practice that makes me skeptical of what else they are willing to do behind the scenes. They are partly con artists for the way they conduct business. They open your box and show you what they made before letting you leave, which is extremely awkward and weird because it’s their way of making sure they are able to rip you off. You can’t actually examine what she shows you, it’s really strange.
I even brought in an extra new customer. The lady working screamed “have a great night” to a white couple that left me right before us. Then we got up and looked at her and said “have a great night, thank you so much!” And she didn’t reply. Keep in mind, at no time can you be more that 8ft away from the cash register while inside this store. She looked at us and didn’t reply...
Read moreWhile prices are comparable to other hibachi style express food shops I was a bit disappointed. You can not get a "hibachi" portion without vegetables, instead they upcharge you a dollar more and just load you up with more rice. This completely throws the rice to meat ratio off and you are left with what amounts to about half of a diced chicken breast, or about 7 pieces of shimp, to 2-3 cups of cooked rice. (I did not try the steak or any vegetables) The yum yum sauce is also just "ok." It lacks any distinct flavor profile and the two, two ounces cup aren't enough to coat the rice, let alone the meat as well. The food itself was also just "ok." The meat was dry, both chicken and shrimp, but the rice was good even though it was only moderately warm. When asked if they could mix the meat and rice and have it cooked together to get the rice hot they advised that they do not mix them and that it is the customers job.
Edit: Even though the food was only ok, the lady at the register taking the orders was very nice and seemed to remember other customers who had come in to...
Read moreI seriously love this place! The food is great but the best part is the hospitality. Today was only my second time here. The first time was great so I wanted to try again to see if they were consistent l, and they are! The lady that works the front has such a great caring personality, kind of Mom-ish. She gave me free soup while I waited on my carry out and she didn't want me to leave without finishing my delicious soup. She even tried to get my to eat my carry out food there because she insisted it's much better hot lol. The express part in the name is real too, you get very close to actual full service Japanese Steakhouse quality in less than 10 minutes and only about $15 as opposed to over $30. There are several other businesses with this same exact concept but not the same quality, not cooked to order and definitely not the same hospitality. It's hard to find a place that has great food, great value, and great happy people with family like hospitality but this place has it. Im shocked this place doesn't have a bunch more great reviews. Definitely under rated....
