Stopped in to see how if we found a new regular spot- we have not! The lunch portion fajitas were good and a good portion. The chicken tenders and fries caused me angst. They charge a $4 up charge for anyone over 12 getting the same portion of food- this always blows me away. I asked the server and he told me he would ring it at the 7.95 under 12 price. I told him we were prepared to leave as I wasn't paying $4 more since they didn't offer a hi Ken tenders appetizer for my son who doesn't enjoy Mexican fare. We could have and should have just left, but he confidently indicated it was not big deal, "I got you". We ordered and enjoyed some of the chips and salsa provided. We also had water to drink. When they brought the chicken tenders and fries I was suprised by what I saw. They literally cut a tender in half and we got 2 chicken tenders and fries, and as you can see from the inside, little chicken inside. 🤯 my mind was blown 😂 we laughed and decided to just eat and we could grab my son something in the way home if he was still hungry. Then the bill came and the server didn't have me, as you can see it was charged as the price with $4 more. After a long discussion with him (he tried to say maybe it was the service fee that was different 3% service charge for using a credit card! I explained that the record shows the cost of $4 more and 3% of $100 would only be $3 so that couldn't be it...the manager came over and he explained the policy and how he doesn't set prices. I explained that I understood, but we were going to leave until the server told us he would just charge the $7.95. The manager didn't know how to refund the bill to correct, had to call someone, ended up reprinting the record and took my card again. The server came over and said he did it right, must have been the POS...um no - the machine doesn't know how old someone is... Just own it dude. Ultimately, I am waiting to see when the credit occurs, they did not provide me with a credit slip and there are 2 charges on my credit card as of today. I don't think we will be back.

I came on Taco Tuesday, so I expected something pretty good. The salsa for the chips was good ! I was happy with the chips and salsa and the cold $2 Pacíficos ! They got the salsa, chips, and beer right. Now for the tacos .... I was hoping for some genuine flavors in the carne molida (ground beef) in the tacos, but I was disappointed because the meat was slightly underdone, without flavor and watery. They just used regular ground beef, rather than preparing something called machaca, which is how to prepare ground beef for tacos. This involves another step after just browning the ground beef. The meat is mixed with seasonings. (Not just hot pepper). Making machaca is the actual flavorful way to do beef tacos. Beyond carne asada, I couldn't really find the real Mexican meats on the menu like chorizo, carnitas, lengua, tripa. They're so flavorful and should be on the menu !! There are stairs to enter the restaurant. This is a college student-heavy neighborhood, so most visitors here are younger than me. I did all right with the stairs, but accessibility is not 100%. ----- Llegué en Martes de Los Tacos. Entonces mis expectaciones eran un poco altas. Lo que pasó es que los tacos estuvieron algo sin sabor y demasiados mojados. Utilizaban carne molida sencilla y no hicieron machaca.

I am writing a review to look at the accessibility of North Campus Cazuela's! What struck me initially at this location was the amount of steps that existed around the front entrance of the building. The main high street entrance had two steps going up to the outdoor seating area, followed by 4 more steps to reach the inside of the restaurant itself. This presents many challenges to those with mobility-related disabilities and wheelchair-users. As parking was off of high street, no accessible parking spots existed. Upon entering the restaurant, many differing seating options were presented; booths, chairs, bar seating, and wheelchair-friendly tables lined the inside of the restaurant. The inside of the restaurant was quite narrow though, and had steps going to differing areas of the restaurant. The menu was presented as a QR code to go to a digital menu, which may be good for those with screen readers. No tactile or braille menus were advertised or presented. Upon being seated, I was seated in an area dark except for strobe lights and loud with music -- which may present difficulties for those with sensitivities to sensory or visual stimuli. The bathrooms were very small, and the location was crowded. For those with disabilities or who need accommodations, I would recommend going on a weeknight day-evening, and calling ahead to ensure needs are met.

So, I came with high expectations but was disappointed with the service, sticky table and sub-par food. The tacos were dry and mediocre, the mojito taste like water down juice, and our server seemed salty that we asked if he can clean the table a second time. I decided to use water and a napkin to clean it a third time because I didn't want the server to get upset a second time. The food and drink menu looked and sound appetizing and authentic -- the very reason I decided to stop her, but I was sorely disappointed as it taste and looked nothing like the advertisement. The agua chile ceviche looked raw and like it was drowning in period blood sewage water. I was disappointed in the end but the kiwi-strawberry margarita, salsa and chips were likely the best part of the dining experience, aside from the scenery. Disappointingly, I drove 2.5 hours for this experience. And when we asked to have an item taken off because it just didn't look or taste appetizing, we were shunned and silenced. That in mind, I woild NOT recommend this restaurant if you're looking for an authentic experience. Lesson learned.

The happy hour deals are great. The waitress was pretty awesome too. They had nice music and plenty of seating. The food was ok. It's nothing to go shouting off the roof tops about. The service left some room for desire. After sitting at a table outside for over 10 mins I went inside to ask if someone would serve us. I ordered a carne asada and got one slice of steak and a bit of onions. The portion was ok but compared to many other Mexican restaurants it was on the light side of things. It was pretty salty and the onions started to burn on the skillet . My little sister ordered the build your own burrito (veggie). She said she really liked it but the portion size of this was huge! She ended up taking it home. I did have a pomegranate frozen margarita. That was delicious! In general I probably would not come solely for the food again but if you have a few friends or date night for some drinks and a quick bite this is probably where I would go.

Cazuela is an excellent Mexican restaurant that offers a true taste of authentic Mexican cuisine. The dishes are flavorful and well-prepared, making it a great spot for anyone who loves Mexican food. The atmosphere is inviting, and the staff is friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable dining experience. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal or a place to enjoy with friends and family, Cazuela is a solid choice. Excelente servicio y saludos al Manager Angel de parte de Albert y su hermanastro!
