"PATHETIC PLACE TO EAT IN COLUMBUS". The name of the restaurant has atleast a bit of significance to it. The food was frozen from ages...may be since the era of Shahjahan (17th century) & was blended with some newly added spices, colors etc. (21st century) to it & served. Let's go through my experience step by step: 1) "Hariyali Tikka" - It came all the way from Mughal Era!!! No...i am not talking about the recipe here, but the food itself. This tikka was prepared during 17th century & who knows might be leftovers from Shah Jahans dynasty.. which was frozen until we ordered this & it came all the way to our table & finally to our stomach. It was made with chicken full of green colors & few variety of bell peppers. It was a true cold blooded murder of the entire Mughal recipe of Haryali Tikka. No mints, No cilantro, curd/ yogurt etc...for making it haryali. Rather it was the color which made it Green (Haryali). Also, as I said earlier...it was frozen ones being prepared again. 2) Coming to the next item "Awadhi Chicken"- Its been a blunder too. It's been too much of butter with spinach, paneer, almonds etc. & it was blended in such a way wherein you would not be able to catch up the taste of a delicacy, instead you would be running across all your experiences & memories to realize if you really like it. In short it would make you confused with all ridiculous combination of food flavors/ recipies. Anyways...the whole point is to make you all aware that it is one of the worst Indian/Asian places available in Columbus region to go with. I really go in detail everytime to try to see the quality & the preparation. 3)"Goat Bhuna"- Well, to be honest it should have been named as "Goat Bones Bhuna". I could able to find only a couple of meat pieces, rest all was lovely BONES. 4) Lets come to Plain Rice -If you wanna taste rice from prehistoric ages...then go for it & was damn smelly too. Though, the cardamoms, cloves etc... were from the current age. 5) The place needs to be inspected for insects etc. Cockroaches all around. *** For Restaurant folks ...plz be aware to maintain the min requirement to serve in USA. Also, plz dont make customers fool by making nonsense combination of food preparation/ recipes without any quality that too frozen. Also, the items are insanely expensive considering food recipe, quality, convenience per the location & parking, restaurant ambience etc. Last but not the least- I would request all of you to be safe & if you want to be alive please avoid this place. For the ones who are alive after eating here (like me)- trust me....its your reincarnation. Its a true insult to world famous historic name of TAJ MAHAL.

I went to New Taj Mahal for having Indian food in dinner but was disappointed due to their food quality. I ordered goat biryani and made it a meal by adding rice pudding. Raita (yogurt preparation) comes with biryani. Also, ordered veg samosa, lamb curry and gulabjamun. The goat meat in biryani was undercooked, most of the meat pieces were rubbery. Too much oil, spices were added to biryani and seemed to be mixture of goat meat curry mixed with rice. Although I have not found authentic biryani in Columbus or Cleveland yet!! Most restaurants I have visited serve rice mixed with (chicken/goat/lamb/beef) meat and lots of wrong combinations of spices and called 'biryani' !! Anyways back to New Taj Mahal food - the raita served with biryani was yogurt without cucumber/carrots/cilantro. The rice pudding had an unknown smell which I didn't like, but the texture was good. The veg samosa and gulab jamun was ok. Lamb meat was properly cooked but the gravy/sauce was actually tomato puree. Overall I wouldn't recommend any meat items as those could be undercooked, too oily and spicy.

Hi, today was the first time that I ordered food during the lockdown, and the first time I used Grubhub. The food I ordered it from "New Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant ." The order was left at my doorstep but when I saw it, the first thing I noticed is that the receipt was all spilled with blood (see pictures, although those pictures I took them after I sprayed the bag with Lysol). My son saw it and of course he began to cry and tell me he didn't want to eat that, and of course we didn't eat it, not even opened the bag, we threw it to the trash can outside of our home. I want to escalate this situation to the instance that can really sanction Grubhub and the restaurant (hard to know who was the culprit here).Of course, I already complained with Grubhub, because I want a refund of my money, but I really feel very upset by this situation, especially with this COVID-19 crisis blood in a receipt you get when you order food online is of great concern. I really expect this restaurant to explain what happened and to talk to Grubhub to give me my money back!!

Hi My self Mario

I recently had the pleasure of dining with my friends at the renowned Taj Mahal restaurant, and I must say that it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. The restaurant not only impressed me with its delightful ambiance and delectable cuisine but also with the impeccable service provided by Azhar, our server for the evening.

From the moment we stepped into the Taj Mahal, we were greeted warmly by the staff and promptly seated at a beautifully adorned table. Azhar, our server, exuded professionalism and attentiveness from the get-go. He approached us with a friendly smile and an eagerness to ensure our dining experience would be nothing short of exceptional.

Azhar took great care of every aspect of our evening, beginning with his expert knowledge of the menu. He patiently guided us through the extensive selection of Indian delicacies, offering insightful recommendations based on our preferences. His passion for the cuisine was evident, and his genuine enthusiasm for the dishes he described heightened our anticipation.

Throughout the evening, Azhar demonstrated remarkable attention to detail. He anticipated our needs, ensuring our glasses were never empty and promptly removing any finished plates. He struck a perfect balance between being attentive and giving us space to enjoy our meal and conversation.

Not only did Azhar excel in his service, but he also displayed a deep understanding of the dishes we ordered. His explanations were both informative and engaging, elevating our dining experience. His knowledge extended beyond the menu, as he shared interesting anecdotes about the history and cultural significance of certain dishes, further immersing us in the rich tapestry of Indian cuisine.

Azhar's timing was impeccable, as each course arrived precisely when we were ready for it. The food itself was a symphony of flavors and textures, expertly crafted and...

Edit: I went there a week after the incident and actually met the owner who is rally nice! I explained the incident but unfortunately I don’t know the name of the person! He stayed he will investigate this and make sure his customer’s are treated better! Happy to have met the owner to clear that that person wasn’t him since I questioned it in my original review.

Ordered takeout but by the time we got there the kids were really hungry since we have been out for long time. I asked the gentleman at the cashier if it is ok to dine in and he was very nice about it and said yes. As I was completing the purchase the owner/ manager took over my transaction and the gentleman who was helping us with tasked with something else. This person ( manager/owner) told us we can’t dine in since we ordered a takeout in a very rude manner. The restaurant was empty 100%. I understand that they may have policies but provided the empty space ( always empty by the way majority of customers are deliveries or takeouts) I hoped he could accommodate us ( my hungry children ) for 30 minutes or so. I am sure he will not go out of business for this reason. Or may be , be nice about his refusal and kindly explain why!

The food is good I have to say. I went there multiple times before this incident and everyone I dealt with was nice. It was my first encounter with this person who appeared to...
