When we walked in we looked around. We weren't immediately greeted and didn't see a sign about seating ourselves. I asked a lady behind the counter if we just sat anywhere and she nodded, and pointed and rang a bell.
As we found a table in back, she rang the bell and another lady came out. We sat near a man eating a meal.
The lady came out and brought us paper menus and we ordered water.
Some of the menu was not fully printed so and our waitress provided further explanation- and indicated they got the menu s free, maybe that was why.
I made my way back to the bathrooms. The women's towel holder had so much dust on it that it couldn't have been dusted in weeks. The mirrors were filthy and the floor in need of a deep clean.
In fact the whole place could use a good cleaning. The door to a storage room was open and the spilled food on the floor, and a container of something was stored on the floor. I honestly didn't look long because I was concerned I would see something I couldn't unsee.
The onion rings were $8.99 and they were premade frozen. They sent out a double that was still uncooked and Camry inside. I asked if they could be replaced and they did send out a few to replace the 2. Having made these at home it was an oversight on the cook who didn't look at what they dropped. Frozen ones sometimes come stuck, they never cook that way. But for $8.99 we still wanted a full basket and not miss out on 2. The onion rings were good quality frozen rings. We did see the waitress bring up a bag of the frozen items.
The Greek salad was a solid good. There are other places that do it better. The tilapia was too salty in my opinion.
My hubs had a gyro and wasn't a fan. He said the meat was too greasy and his pita was wet and soggy by the end.
We had a coupon which we left at home, but I'm not sure that I would be back (even with a coupon). The man who sat beside us did in fact work there, as we saw him get up and do some work...he never acknowledged us.
We realized we had to go to the counter to pay when we saw others do so.
I left feeling like they have given up. It may have been really great once, but I felt kinda everyone was going thru the motions.
We dined Monday at 5:00 pm. Were the first diners inside and it took over an hour for our...
Read moreGrabbed lunch here today because I wanted to try somewhere new. Was greeted when I walked in. They were busy filling a large catering order, but the lady working hopped over to serve me right away.
I got a spicy chicken gyro with garlic and feta fries and a piece of baklava.
The gyro was good. Chicken was not overdone and the bread was spot on. The only issue is there is soooo much sauce on it. It's drowning in sauce. I'd argue too much, but I'm sure a lot of people like it that way.
The fries were good, but next time I'm going to get them plain. I don't feel the feta and garlic added a lot of flavor.
The baklava was good, but I can honestly say I've never had a piece of baklava that I didn't like.
I think it is a very good value. For everything included I spent about $17. The Greek place closer to where I live would have been $7 more.
Will I go back? Definitely. It's close to where I work, and they were quick. Which makes it convenient for lunch. And it also didn't break my wallet.
I am a happy...
Read moreI’ve visited this restaurant today for lunch wanted to go and try something different order the gyro combo regular gyro fries and a Coke. They told me to sit wherever I wanted as I did took quite a while for anyone to come to the table funny they did I ordered took a while for the food to come find me the server brought my french fries over they were overcooked hard not much taste to them a few minutes later she brought the gyro over. It looked OK but had absolutely no taste to it I asked for extra sauce thinking that would help the sauce was extremely bland nothing like it traditional cucumber or tazeki sauce It was also pretty soggy and after my $7.99 meal turned into a $14 meal with tip left there very dissatisfied won’t be back especially because there is Gyro express on the corner of Sancus and players Parkway or Yanni’s Greek on Cleveland Avenue that are...
