The most unprofessional behavior from any restaurant I have ever done business with. Buyer beware. If you want warm food and good service, go elsewhere. Saturday night my district manager in Ohio hosted our annual holiday dinner at this restaurant. We had booked a party of 20. Unfortunately 8 of our employees canceled last minute due to various reasons. We were told by the owner in ear shot of several of our staff there would be a $3 charge per person who canceled. She said 50 people had canceled that night and she was losing money. Fine. The owner then said because a couple of our people were a little late, our party would be served last. She was true to her word and let my staffs food sit to make a point. They served everyone else first and our food came out cold. The waitress kept purposefully reaching in front of my district managers face when it was unnecessary to do so. All of the above could have gone overlooked. We paid the bill then the owner came back out with a bill for $270. She said she was charging $30 per person. Well first of all, we had 8 cancel so that would be $240. Second, she told us multiple times it was a $3 charge so it should have been $24. When my manager questioned the charge, the owner got loud and belligerent causing a scene and yelling at her in front of her staff and the other patrons. Multiple people turned their heads to see what was going on. It was rude and disrespectful and completely uncalled for. My manager finally just paid the bill and my staff left. I’m in the business of customer service and if we treated our customers that way, we would not be in business for long. Save your money and go somewhere the owner will value...
Read moreI called Claudiana on a whim because I was looking for a place to surprise my wife on our 1st wedding anniversary. I saw this place on Google and had never heard of it before, but it had great ratings. I called and talked to one of the owners (owned by a husband-wife team), who assured me that we would be very happy with their food and one of the best wine selections in town.
When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the owner, seated promptly, and served our wine (Moscato di Asti). Our appetizers (Claudiana Caprese) came before our bread was even on the table (both of which were delicious... and the bread has an herb butter with it that's to-die-for). Our entrees (Eggplant Parmesan and Ravioli alla Viktoria) were phenomenal in all senses. My wife and I agree that it's the BEST Italian cuisine we've ever had by a landslide. No exaggeration, it's the best.
For dessert, which was kindly offered complements of the house on our anniversary, we had their homemade tiramisu. It was, again, delicious. Meanwhile, throughout our meal, we were treated as family by the owners, who were probably the sweetest people we've ever met.
In summary, don't waste any more time before you go check this place out. From the outside, it looks small, but the inside is full of charm and romance. It's a great place to take someone special, but it would be an excellent dinner destination for a large group as well. Can't say enough good things about Claudiana Italian Restaurant! We'll be back...
Read moreHorrible experience as a whole. My brother in law called ahead weeks ago to make a reservation for 11 people, for my sister's birthday. When we arrived, we were told we didn't show up at the right time. Which was absolutely ridiculous, how could my brother in law just randomly make up an incorrect time? We were all talking when he made the phone call, we all knew the time that was reserved, and we were there fifteen minutes ahead of time, not late as we were told. They were able to fit us in (the dining room was nearly empty and I know why, now!) The server actually had the nerve to confront my brother in law AGAIN about the reservation time, to tell him he was wrong, while we were all trying to enjoy. Then we were told it was going to take a very long time because there was a party in another room. Now it started to make sense, why they tried to turn us away. They didn't want us there. Dinner was disappointing, everything was oversalted. My fiances dish did not come as described on the menu. Some in our party were satisfied. My lemocello martini was good. It took 35 minutes to get our checks and leave. Here's the worst part of the whole evening...as we were leaving, this man...I assume the manager? Went off on my Mom about not leaving a tip....the server intervened to tell him that gratuity was included because our party was large. This psycho followed my mom to the parking lot trying to fight with her. Never...
