UPDATED REVIEW AUGUST 2025: I have been waiting to update this review because I wanted to give a fair review based on our experience living here. I have Taken away 3 stars based on multiple issues we had living at The Edge and the issues that we have had since moving out. The first day we moved in the pipe under our kitchen sink leaked all over. Maintenance came to fix it and at a later date it leaked again all over. A new maintenance guy came and actually fixed it, thankfully. We then received a paper in our door that said they would be coming to measure our kitchen countertops for replacement. We were never told prior to us signing the lease or moving in that the kitchen countertops had any issues and were going to be replaced while we lived there. Apparently they had water damage, but the maintenance guy did not see any water damage and didnât see why they needed replacing. We get another notice that people would be coming to replace the countertops in a few days. I called and asked the office if they could give me an estimate of what time they are coming or a heads up so I can make sure Iâm dressed and ready. That day arrives and 8am with no heads up, I am woken up by a group of men ready to replace the countertop knocking at the door. As a woman by herself, I didnât feel super comfortable, but they were kind and respectful. They mentioned that they were confused why the countertops were being replaced while tenants were living there. This was the start of the bad communication and dishonesty from The Edge. You have to call the office multiple times because they rarely answer emails. You donât get a heads up when maintenance is coming, so in case you are moving there and reading this, they usually come the day after making a service request around 2/3pm. Im hoping they have changed this since moving out since some people like to know when a person will be coming in to their unit. I always read reviews before moving somewhere and I usually overlook ones about bad management, but I wont anymore. Our new Apartment complex has had multiple issues, but the management is quick to respond and has been very apologetic. Moving forward, more issues arise with things here and there. Aaron does not seem to be very honest to tenants, which is a very big issue in my opinion. It is now August and we moved out the last week of May and we have still not received our deposit or itemized list of damages. I have been calling the office since June 19th about it. I do appreciate Garrett, in the office, who has answered every one of my calls and has been as helpful as he can. Iâm sure I have called around 20 times. We are just very frustrated and donât understand why this is taking so long. Overall, I wouldnât recommend living here unless you like dishonesty from the property manager and not receiving your deposit back for months. I am expecting the deposit to be our full deposit, since in Ohio, Landlords are responsible for sending it within 30 days of the move out date and receiving the forwarding address.
Feb 2024: I will Update this after living here for a while but my boyfriend and I move in Thursday and are so excited! Frankie has been so helpful and kind answering all of my questions. The place was super clean when we toured and we loved all the sidewalks throughout the complex. We canât wait...
Read moreMy apartment was on the first floor and fairly big for a one bedroom. I overall liked my apartment building and the office and pool, but I had my sprinkler lines burst and it smelled horrible like sewage and left an absolute mess. I had standing puddles of this water covering my apartment for days, holes in my ceiling, and it was honestly a horrible living situation and felt completely unsanitary and out of my control. It was impossible to contact emergency maintenance and then it took around a month to get everything fixed. Then I kept being told people were coming to do things and they just wouldnât show up.
The manager was honestly very rude and not at all helpful through all of these issues, told me âthese things just take timeâ, offered me no compensation (and Oakwood the corporate office ignored my request as well), wouldnât approve temporary hotel stay, was super dismissive of all of my questions and requests, and tried to shut me up by saying he got carpet cleaning scheduled (I do not have carpet so he wasnât even listening to the issues I had been addressing). I also received a message saying painting was completed and when I came home from work it had not been painted and the manager (Aaron) told me they just decided it didnât need done. So then I had to wait to have painting scheduled again.
The smell remained in my apartment for over a month, and the âclean upâ left my apartment still horribly dirty with actual standing water underneath my couch. I received no amount of compensation for any of the ridiculous things I had to deal with throughout this entire process.
So while I did like the unit itself and enjoyed the amenities, the horrible maintenance, rude and unhelpful management, and the frequency of car break-ins made deciding not to renew my lease an easy choice.
Just to top it off when I moved out the charged me $100 for broken blinds. I am unaware of any blind damage if there...
