My apartment was on the first floor and fairly big for a one bedroom. I overall liked my apartment building and the office and pool, but I had my sprinkler lines burst and it smelled horrible like sewage and left an absolute mess. I had standing puddles of this water covering my apartment for days, holes in my ceiling, and it was honestly a horrible living situation and felt completely unsanitary and out of my control. It was impossible to contact emergency maintenance and then it took around a month to get everything fixed. Then I kept being told people were coming to do things and they just wouldn’t show up. The manager was honestly very rude and not at all helpful through all of these issues, told me “these things just take time”, offered me no compensation (and Oakwood the corporate office ignored my request as well), wouldn’t approve temporary hotel stay, was super dismissive of all of my questions and requests, and tried to shut me up by saying he got carpet cleaning scheduled (I do not have carpet so he wasn’t even listening to the issues I had been addressing). I also received a message saying painting was completed and when I came home from work it had not been painted and the manager (Aaron) told me they just decided it didn’t need done. So then I had to wait to have painting scheduled again. The smell remained in my apartment for over a month, and the “clean up” left my apartment still horribly dirty with actual standing water underneath my couch. I received no amount of compensation for any of the ridiculous things I had to deal with throughout this entire process. So while I did like the unit itself and enjoyed the amenities, the horrible maintenance, rude and unhelpful management, and the frequency of car break-ins made deciding not to renew my lease an easy choice. Just to top it off when I moved out the charged me $100 for broken blinds. I am unaware of any blind damage if there actually was any.

Don’t Be Fooled by the Outside - It’s All Cheap Inside This apartment looks fine from the outside, but it’s a completely different story once you move in. The walls are extremely thin, the furnishings are cheap, and there’s almost no natural light in the units. It feels nothing like home. Management is unfriendly and unresponsive. They don’t even greet you at the office, and when I contacted Oakwood (the parent company), I got no reply. The rent pricing is misleading. The initial quote is low to lock you in, but after your lease ends, prices skyrocket. I switched to month-to-month due to the high renewal rate — those rates were ridiculously high. Then when I asked to sign a new lease, they quoted me the same rate as the inflated m2m rent, claiming lease prices are based on that(see attachment for a 2-BR unit). Completely absurd. Security is nonexistent. My $1,200 bike was stolen right in front of the leasing office — and there are no security cameras. Bottom line: there are much better apartments nearby with quality finishes, professional management, and fair pricing. This place is not worth the hassle.

We like it here and everything is within walking distance which is the biggest reason we moved here. The property is well-maintained with outdoor spaces for kids. It is also pet-friendly and includes a dog park and walking trail around the complex. Overall, I'd recommend this place to a friend.

UPDATED REVIEW AUGUST 2025: I have been waiting to update this review because I wanted to give a fair review based on our experience living here. I have Taken away 3 stars based on multiple issues we had living at The Edge and the issues that we have had since moving out. The first day we moved in the pipe under our kitchen sink leaked all over. Maintenance came to fix it and at a later date it leaked again all over. A new maintenance guy came and actually fixed it, thankfully. We then received a paper in our door that said they would be coming to measure our kitchen countertops for replacement. We were never told prior to us signing the lease or moving in that the kitchen countertops had any issues and were going to be replaced while we lived there. Apparently they had water damage, but the maintenance guy did not see any water damage and didn’t see why they needed replacing. We get another notice that people would be coming to replace the countertops in a few days. I called and asked the office if they could give me an estimate of what time they are coming or a heads up so I can make sure I’m dressed and ready. That day arrives and 8am with no heads up, I am woken up by a group of men ready to replace the countertop knocking at the door. As a woman by herself, I didn’t feel super comfortable, but they were kind and respectful. They mentioned that they were confused why the countertops were being replaced while tenants were living there. This was the start of the bad communication and dishonesty from The Edge. You have to call the office multiple times because they rarely answer emails. You don’t get a heads up when maintenance is coming, so in case you are moving there and reading this, they usually come the day after making a service request around 2/3pm. Im hoping they have changed this since moving out since some people like to know when a person will be coming in to their unit. I always read reviews before moving somewhere and I usually overlook ones about bad management, but I wont anymore. Our new Apartment complex has had multiple issues, but the management is quick to respond and has been very apologetic. Moving forward, more issues arise with things here and there. Aaron does not seem to be very honest to tenants, which is a very big issue in my opinion. It is now August and we moved out the last week of May and we have still not received our deposit or itemized list of damages. I have been calling the office since June 19th about it. I do appreciate Garrett, in the office, who has answered every one of my calls and has been as helpful as he can. I’m sure I have called around 20 times. We are just very frustrated and don’t understand why this is taking so long. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend living here unless you like dishonesty from the property manager and not receiving your deposit back for months. I am expecting the deposit to be our full deposit, since in Ohio, Landlords are responsible for sending it within 30 days of the move out date and receiving the forwarding address.

Feb 2024: I will Update this after living here for a while but my boyfriend and I move in Thursday and are so excited! Frankie has been so helpful and kind answering all of my questions. The place was super clean when we toured and we loved all the sidewalks throughout the complex. We can’t wait...

Good, most successful commercial people with least friendly staff!! 😉

  1. They never give the referral bonus to the tenant as they say.
  2. For some people, balconies and patios are allowed with bicycles also, no scrutiny. But for other people they send notices just for having a chair in patios with the brands they don’t like, looks like they are biased or they don’t really take a look at the backside houses in the community.
  3. They don’t make decisions based on fresh data, they simply take 2 years or 3 years old data and act upon it, especially when it comes to scrutinizing people!
  4. don’t know why too much scrutiny just in this Oakwood community while their other communities staff are so friendly!
  5. Their charges are skyrocketing day to day!
  6. Their gym, especially the treadmills are not cleaned everyday, it’s always dirty full of dust on unused parts of the thread-mills and other equipment . if you are person with dust allergy it won’t work for you to go their club house gym.
  7. Lease renewals be aware of it- as the fresh lease gets introduced after renewal, the old payment method doesn’t work automatically for autopay, by any chance if you miss to see if the payment made in first one week after renewal, they send eviction notice to collect all the lawyer fees also from the tenant. Usually they don’t care how long you have been staying there how was your payment history also, just for one missed payment they directly send eviction notices, if you go ask they would angrily shout that “ this is what you signed , this is your responsibility...
