Response to owner: I lived in Houston for 10 years and the Indian cuisine is extremely prominent. I’ve also traveled to Southeast Asia and had authentic Indian food. I know exactly what it’s supposed to taste like, and it was clear that the curries were not cooked long enough to properly bloom the spices. I have yet to have a dish in the Columbus area that even slightly compares to the cuisine in Houston. Please do not assume my palate when you do not know anything about my food experiences.
The food lacked so much flavor. With Indian cuisine, I expect a punch of flavors that sing, but this truly fell flat. All I taste is spice, no actual flavor. This tells me that the spices used are not cooked down enough in the sauce to truly extract the flavor needed to create proper Indian food. The Naan was burnt and the rice, again, flavorless. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Veg Korma, along with garlic Naan. It also took over 30 minutes for my order to be ready and it wasn’t overly busy. The staff was nice, but it was an...
Read moreWorst Restaurant and Worst Service. We tried many Indian restaurants in Columbus and around. So far Dhaba Kitchen is the worst restaurant. The Food was below par and the service was the worst in any restaurant. The food was not at all good. The Paneer Tikka Masala didn't taste good. It tasted like it was given out of the "Ready to Eat" pack. Paneer Biryani was also ok.
Worst Service: As you can see in the picture attached, there was a scheme that if the order was above X amount we would get something free. The Asian (Not Indian) lady refused to give that offer and stated it was for returning customers only. I wanted an extra "paper" plate, the lady said, isn't the already given 2 plates not enough? She gave 2 plates for 3 people. When asked for the lid & container she asked why...
Read moreWe went for the first time two weeks ago and are currently in the parking lot to go again lol. Hands down the best Indian food we’ve had in Columbus. I got the vindaloo with a 4/5 spice level and it was incredible. Spicy, tangy, flavorful. The chicken was so tender and the potatoes were perfect and it was a lot more complex than other vindaloo I’ve had. Absolutely delicious.
My wife got the chow mein and it was really a unique experience. A bunch of veggies and chicken and the noodles had Indian masala spice and the chow mein was a revelation, while the vindaloo could probably start a new religion if it wanted to.
We can’t recommend this place enough, if you’re at bubbly hall you’re doing yourself a disservice if you don’t eat at Dhaba Kitchen. Five stars, 10/10, two...
