Kiku Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Columbus

I'm actually surprised I haven't written a review on Kiku Sushi Bar. I'm not sure why it is spelled wrong on here. This sushi bar is by far my favorite in New Albany due to the convenience and quality.

Kiku Sushi Bar is open in Bubbly Hall in the middle and always have friendly and knowledgeable staff like my favorite Stephanie. She always knows my name and order when I arrived. It is nice to know that this vendor cares about their customers.

I always get the same roll as my favorite is Spicy. Their Spicy Tuna comes with spicy tuna, cucumber, avocado, spicy mayo, sushi sauce, tempura flakes, sesame seed. It is so good!! You really cannot go wrong with any roll here as their ingredients are fresh and rolls are delicious.

I struggled to decide how to rate this. It is in a food hall so there isn't much atmosphere, but I have no problems there. The service was good and quick, so I appreciated that. The food tastes fresh and of high quality overall as well. However, the takoyaki was a bit lacking in my opinion. It was well cooked but I was disappointed in the lack of tako for the price. I don't know how much of the price is the restaurant and how much is the food hall taking a cut of the price, but generally I would expect a large piece in each one, and there were multiple bites where I found myself searching for the piece. Maybe this is how takoyaki is priced in the US as well, as I rarely see it on menus, so if that's correct then disregard my negative comments. Horrible. They add a tonne of mayonnaise to cover the taste. One of the sushis I ordered was the “super California roll” which was supposed to be made with salmon.
