The Morning Ritual — Restaurant in Columbus

Pros: Nice little walk up window, vegan options available. Cons: Coffee and food are not very good, communication is terrible.

Coffee is mediocre but not out of the ordinary in Columbus. Many people will enjoy the improper coffee to milk ratio in the latte.

Vegan options are essentially flavorless and was served on a biscuit that tasted as if it was made with stale flour. A sprinkle if salt would have gone a long way in enhancing the flavor.

Communication is awful, as seems to be the case with many businesses these days.

First, the menu on the online ordering system does not match that posted on the website. The online system also charges tax (which means I reduce my tip) and quoted a pickup time of 30-50 minutes AFTER i completed the order.

Second, I tried to call the store to cancel my order but no one answered the phone. Instead I was subject to a message that the restaurant was closed until Jan 3. Obviously this is an old message so it needs to be changed. How difficult is that? Especially if you will not answer your phone, you better be sure your message is accurate and up to date. Overall I do not appreciate inconsistent information- will it really be 30-50 minutes? Are they open or not? JUST BE CLEAR!

So since I could not get ahold of anyone I was forced to show up at the restaurant. Turns out my order was ready after all. That is all fine and dandy but ETA on pickup time is a major factor in food ordering decisions so it needs to be right and it needs to be stated upfront- before putting in credit card info and completing the order.

I do not see any reason to return to...

My wife and I recently stopped in at this New Albany location. We had high hopes, we were very excited to try this new place (to us).

My initial thought upon walking in was, though it looked nice on the inside, it was fly central everywhere.

I was hesitant getting anything but a coffee, but we ordered drinks and their biscuits. We chose a table and awaited our items. Biscuits came out quickly. They were served with strawberry preserves. Very tasty. However, I was completely turned off by all the flies, we couldn’t finish our portions. After waiting 20 minutes, I went to the counter to ask where our drinks were. It seems they forgot to make them. So we asked for them to go. Upon leaving, my wife discovered her drink was lukewarm at best. They gave us a free drink coupon before we left, but barely a mention otherwise.

We wanted to like this place, but the service and pest problem made...

Their coffee is good, but for their prices, you don't get a lot of it, so I dont order it much anymore. The breakfast sandwiches are really good, as the biscuits they make are excellent. Definitely the biggest reason I go here. But make a habit of checking your to-go order before you leave, as about 1 out of every 5 sandwiches are made incorrectly (missing egg, meat, etc...). If you order a "sausage breakfast sandwich", most staff will produce a biscuit sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese. With others, this order will result in you receiving sandwich without cheese or egg. On one occasion, I was given a "sausage breakfast sandwich" that was only biscuit, egg, and cheese, so I really don't know.
