I’ve never given anything a negative review before, but I’d have to say my experience with this donut shop was frustrating, to say the least. I’ll preface it by saying that the online ordering was straightforward, and the donuts were ready on time and the order was correct. The customer service, however, was sorely lacking. I’ll also mention that I deliberately chose to purchase from a small business rather than a chain, because I believe in supporting as many local businesses as I can. I drove to the store to pickup my order on Tuesday afternoon this week, and as I had two little ones in the car with me I called into the store from my car and requested they bring my order at least just to the front door of the shop, so I could just hop out and grab them, rather than hauling my munchkins inside just for a pick up. The employee I spoke with simply answered with a “no, you can just come inside and pick them up from the counter.” I was a tad bit stunned but since she gave me no choice, I lugged my car seat and toddler inside. There were two employees behind the counter and no customers. They briefly glanced at me and called out “have a good day.” They then watched me struggle to pick up the donut boxes (which they didn’t bother to put in any sort of bag, making them easier to carry,) as well as the car seat and my toddler and maneuver everyone out their front door. Zero offers to assist whatsoever. I worked in food retail for years myself and would have NEVER treated a customer that way. Sorry Donna, you lost what would have been a fairly regular customer—your donuts are good but not worth that much hassle.
Addendum: Thank you for the prompt reply. I would have had zero problem with the situation, had the employee politely explained that her refusal was due to policy. Her exact words were, “we have a lot of orders in here right now, so you can just come in and get them.” Sounded more to me like she was too busy, and did not give me any indication that it was a policy issue. I completely understand about the social distancing measure, and I was aware that your business did not offer curbside pickup. I honestly did not think that requesting an employee just to bring them to the front door of the establishment was considered curbside pickup, (heck she could have put them on the ground outside and I could have just picked them up after she went back in if that was the issue!) My issue with the situation was that my request for assistance was met with a very rude reply that gave no reasoning other than implying that they were too busy. (And by the way, I did see a recent review which I believe you replied to, stating that the employees did bring donuts outside to someone else’s car. So apparently you make exceptions for...
Read moreWent yesterday just to try as have been wanting to. Well The 4 I got didnt last and everyone in the family didnt get one! So went back today. Different workers. At 1st I was treated ok. Until the girl that rang me up. I mentioned I wanted 1/2 dozen and clarified with 2 workers what qualified and what didnt. Then I added 2 separate special donuts that did not qualify with the original 1/2 dozen deal. So apparently, I only ordered 5 flavors of the original and 2 special and as I was trying to clarify why it was only 7 donuts when I paid for 8, the little rude worker proceeded to argue and raise her voice to me! I FINALLY got them (the other girl) to UNDERSTAND and they made it right however with an ATTITUDE. BOTH of them did not say anything when they served me even though I said thank you (KINDLY) during check out AND when I was given my order. Also before I ordered I asked if they had a rewards program she laughed at me and said no. I paid and said thank you, she IGNORED and said nothing. My daughter who was sitting down waiting, said as I was watching the main attitude make the donuts she apparently did not like that I was watching and was making faces! Wow. Isn't that the purpose of the glass so people can see? I will NOT come back due to the way I was treated. I was excited about this place and because they offer Gluten free!! The quality of the donuts was pretty good (same concept as Duck Donuts). Hopefully Donna watches the camera and gets rid of the main...
Read moreIn the midst of what is going on in the world, you would think people would practice proper food handling and safe sanitation practices. The girl that made my donuts took off her gloves, texted on her phone, then put the old gloves on without washing her hands. I threw away the donuts and unfortunately will never be back. What a shame.
Update. I replied to the owner and all she did was argue with me. Which doesn't suprise me actually. Ive been in the restaurant business for 17 years. She apparently doesnt believe in the customer is always right and needs to get herself servsafe certified.
3/21 update. As you can see from all the other 1 star reviews, this woman is bound and determined to argue with anyone that gives her a negative review. The ability to take criticism and improve your business is extremely important in any food service environment. I support small businesses, but this is one business I hope does not last. Maybe she can take a page out of a real business owner, Cameron Mitchell, and remember that the customer is always right, instead of being rude and defending yourself and your untrained horrible employees. I hung up on you because you wouldn't stop arguing...
