Go to Tommy's (their dad does it better)... Now they are actually really good with how their noodles taste. My star is based on the fact that I had never eaten there before or at any of their locations. I was given this suggestion from a rep who comes in to where I work, a restaurant equipment supply company here in Columbus. The initial call for an order the young man was kind of annoyed that I wanted Alfredo sauce instead of tomato sauce on my spaghetti dinner. He first said he couldn't do that, that it's cooked to order. So, cook the noodles and take some of the Alfredo sauce that's probably being kept warm by the steam kettle and put it on there. After arguing with him, he made it happen. Only to get it home and low and behold the meatballs weren't there. Called up, they said "So sorry we will make a note of that." Had the order replaced at a later date. That was great I was happy they could replicate such an intricate order again. But wait! No meatballs...again! Do they serve meatballs? Called up again, spoke to the manager, "So sorry, we will make a note of that." Just called up for the THIRD time and they said what would you like. I responded with MEATBALLS. But hold on, their twice screw up is going to cost me this time. I wasn't going to chance the order being screwed up again, so I asked for a pizza with a side of, you guessed it. Meatballs! No such luck. Manager Chris said that it's discount only. So their twice screw up and me saying no I'm not going to pay for a screwed up order again and I will never eat there again. Your meatballs either don't exist and if they do aren't worth the trouble it takes to get an...
Read morePros: Been coming here for over 20 years. Predictable, repeating quality.
Large dining room.
All You Can Eat option is decent but I usually get a pizza.
Service good. Manager/owner occasionally seen on floor checking on things (could he doing more of that...)
Pizza good..love the thin crust and hand-crumbled sausage. They use Margarita pepperoni...the type that lays flat. I prefer the "cup n char" type, but it's more $$ & it's a family pizza place...I'm sure they are running on a shoe string.
I've never gotten anything but their pizza although they certainly have other items which I'll try if I ever get tired of the pizza.
Cons: Really not many...if any. -1 for lighting & interior...drop ceiling w moderate, uniform, uninspiring lighting. The usual american/Italian-style art one would expect to find here n there on the walls.
Neutral: the interior has never changed in 20 years we've been going. It's clean and in decent repair and although its just "Mehh" in style, there's something oddly comforting about a place that NEVER...
Read moreHaving lived in Columbus for many years, and had pizza at Iacono's many times, I was disappointed on my last visit. Maybe it's a new thing with pizza, but the pizza was dry, as if they had not used enough pizza sauce when they made it. The crust and toppings were tasty, but I like a more saucy pizza. Just FYI - those of you in the know also know that Tommy's Pizza, a staple here in Columbus for many years, is owned by Tommy Iacono, a brother of Iacono's. During a recent visit to Tommy's, I did not notice the dry pizzaa tendency that I've observed at other pizza restaurants of late. But I digress... For sure, Iacono's is a great place to go. Pizza isn't the only offering on their menu. But, I would suggest that you ask for extra sauce on your pizza, or at least ask for a side of pizza sauce to dip...
