So I write reviews once in a blue moon-but I was either going to do this or call manager directly...We went here on April 10th(Saturday) and y'all were a little bit busy. So we understood that the staff wasn't as attentive(even though we were sitting AT the bar.) But not only did we not get waited on...two men next to us literally had us doing the waive to get staff attention. Like we stood up and threw our hands up. Here's the kicker, it didn't work. The two staff at the bar just kept laughing and talking to each other, did not even notice what was going on. He eventually got the waitress' attention by standing up and waiving his napkin around after I would say 15 minutes of trying to get attention. My beer was empty...and normally I would have ordered a second, but I couldn't get anyone's attention until our food was gone. Speaking of food, I couldn't even eat it for the first 5 minutes I had it because that's how long it took to FINALLY get someone to stop and ask for silverware and napkins. We also had something wrong with our order but the person who dropped it off did not bother asking if it was correct...but we let it go and decided to eat it as is. Our main waitress was nowhere to be found for the majority of the time there. Okay...Fast Forward to yesterday. We got Ale Trail passes the other day so we went back to Knotty Pine bc they were in the area we wanted to go shopping in afterwards. Plus we wanted a stamp. So we get there(on a Monday) it wasn't busy. But of course, we had the exact same waitress that went AWOL as last time. We didn't care because we thought, "everyone has off days." Well this girl never asked to refill our drinks, again. She DID drop off silverware before our meal which was nice. But when it was time to pay the bill, we tried getting her attention so many times that we gave up and went to the bar to ask for our check. I just wouldn't tell anyone to go here if they are expecting good service. Good food, good drinks, so if you're a patient...
Read moreI really wanted to give this place more stars. I've been here a few times. The first time was for dinner with a friend of mine and the service was decent and so was the beer. My fish sandwich was good, but my friend's food was straight up cold. They fixed it, but it was still kinda weird. The next time was for brunch and the food was awesome. Chorizo hash and chicken and waffles. Amazing. But the last time, for brunch my wife and I walked inside and waited a while before anyone noticed us, then they sat us outside and we waited for about 15 more min. I went back inside and finally got someone's attention and told them we hadn't been greeted yet. Apparently, no one had been told we had been seated. After several more minutes of waiting for anyone, it was a comedy of errors of getting the wrong drinks, waiting a long time for food, receiving a pizza that we didn't order along with our food, and then seeing the incorrect charges on our check after we sent it back since we hadn't ordered it. Overall, not a great experience.
Again, the food we got was good. But that service sucked. Really wanted to like this place more. And maybe it was just a bad day for them, but according to the other bad reviews they've got, it seems like that happens more than it should. Don't think we'll won't go back here even though the chicken and waffles are probably the best...
Read moreMy wife and I came to Knotty Pine at 5PM on a Friday to beat the dinner rush. The restaurant was pretty empty, and we were sat immediately, given water and silverware by the host, but didn't see by our server for about 10 minutes. When she came over she took our drink order, but then took another 10ish minutes before coming back with the beer and taking our dinner order. The Knott Lite is a great brew, with the drinkability of a typical domestic and the flavor of a craft beer without the filling effect.
The food came out fast, we ordered a perch dinner and a chicken sandwich each with fries. The fries were pretty good, but the fish came out slightly undercooked. "No big deal" I thought, expecting the kitchen to throw the fish back into the fryer for a few minutes. We sat there with our hands in our laps for about 15 minutes looking for the server who was MIA, while the rest of the staff walked by us busy with their own things. I eventually threw $5 on the table for the beer and we left two plates of untouched food. The host didn't seem to notice us walking out either.
Maybe I caught them at a bad time,. The beer was good, but I have no plans...
