TLDR: Messed up with charges and charged me for a full balyage and not a partial and they acted as if they had no fault and threatened me with lawyers if I wrote a review. $700 down the drain no apologies for being unsatisfied and misinformed and/or lied to about my hair journey with lightening my hair. They didn't apologize once. They finally returned my money after some aggressive emails and reviewing of receipts and I've never posted a review in my life and I work in service so please read more and review the photos! I called, told them I had dark hair and wanted to be estimated a time range and price range to achieve my goal. I was told with virgin hair that my goal would be achievable in one session. I go and my hair ends up orange and my roots black. I have to tie it up the the next 6 weeks. I let my hair dresser know what I was estimated for the time frame on the phone and she didn't do much to change my mind. I give them the benefit of the doubt and go in again for a second time and say ok well this time I'll be at my goal for sure 100%. I leave telling my boyfriend that I'll be back a new woman looking great. I go and they give me a partial balyage for this session and I am still no where near my goal, I force my hair dresser to cough it up and tell me how long is this really going to take, he was like "umm like maybe 4-6 more sessions"!! That's like a year of going in paying 300$ a session and you're just now saying this? Who the hell was on that phone? I was upset and I go to pay my bill. I didn't notice until 5 mins later and called back that I paid a lot more for this session than my last session and I only got a partial balyage this session instead of a full one? This doesn't make much sense. The receptionist apologized and realized she did in fact charge me for a full balyage and not a partial and the money would be refunded. I wait and still no money so I email about it. They told me I was mistaken and said yeah ok we did mess up the charge for the baylage but we forgot to charge you for a product and tried to add it to my bill and tell me that the price I paid was indeed correct. Im sitting here like, what is this product? I didn't get this product. They don't have it on the receipt and they just write it in at the bottom with pen after its printed out and try to charge me for it 2 weeks later?? On top of that I didn't realize I was paying $60 for them to blowdry my hair. I thought they would be classier, but to be honest I'd get better service at a great clips for half the price and honestly came out with the same results I did here. I went to another salon to fix it and the stylist asked if I had a new stylist and I told her NO they were some of their best. She asked why did they balyage you if you are trying to go lighter? That doesn't lighten? Also why would they go for a partial the second time when you need to go lighter? She said balyaging hair doesn't take out color super effectively and honestly I would probably never ever be as light as I needed no matter how much they balyaged me. She seemed legitimately dumbfounded and confused on what they were doing at akada. I know why they did everything. To get as much money as possible and not the best results I feel ROBBED! I felt like they didn't want to admit how long It would actually take me to go from black to blonde and the steps you need to do that. If they were open and honest about it and informative and professional, if they had me sign a receipt before sitting down in the chair so I knew what services I was paying for instead of hiding it from me I would be ok. I understand that I don't understand hair but it's their job to educate me on realistic results instead of taking my money and If I decide they were sneaky about it oh well your problem not ours tell other people about it and we will threaten you with lawyers pics below. Look at my orange hair after two sessions and my pitch black roots. I saw a review that said their color faded after a couple of weeks and I believe it even when you buy their products.

Akada’s hospitality is absolutely amazing. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. I booked with Shantal.. and let me tell you.. she is such a special and one of a kind soul. I came in with a little too many ideas and thoughts and she managed to take all the info I gave & put her professional take on it. She was so patient and reassuring. I am so so happy with my results. She’s incredibly talented & incredibly fun to chat with. Love her vibesss! Consider her my forever hairstylist. 🥺 10000/10

I have been going to Akada for over 20 years, I have crazy curly hair and typically wear it straight. It takes extreme skill to be able to cut curly hair that is even enough to wear blown out, John does just that. I can’t recommend Akada and John enough!

I’ve been looking for a good hair salon after my usual stylist moved away. I’m fearful of change and I’m picky when it comes to my hair. But with high recommendations I heard that Tabby from Akada was fantastic. So I decided to give her a try. I was impressed with the salon as soon as I walked in. The staff that greeted me was so friendly, the environment was clean and I was made to feel comfortable. Tabby is fantastic, such a sweet lady and is very talented. They value continued education for their staff and the new employees are trained well before being allowed to cut or color a customer’s hair (I know this because I asked a lot of questions), I really loved my cut and color, it looked perfect to me. After a few days of washing and styling my hair myself I noticed a few places that were bugging me because I couldn’t blow dry it just like Tabby did so it laid differently (I told you I was a little picky) . I called the salon and they got me right back in and Tabby cut a few places a little differently, at no cost to me. Now when I blow dry my hair it lays just right! I am so pleased and feel excited to have found my new salon. I will definitely be going back. Thank you Tabby and Akada for a wonderful experience. I’m enjoying my new...

Arlene was suggested to me through customer service emails and my expectations were exceeded. She was very patient with me, answering questions I had as I was/am trying to embrace my natural wavy hair. She asked initial questions, such as how I take care of my hair and there was ZERO judgment. she even tailored her help to my lifestyle, (ie, depression and having low energy some days to worry about my hair) and explained everything easily . She didn’t tell me I had to change what I was doing and didn’t make me feel bad at all. I appreciated her service and will continue to go to her for hair services.

Second visit/service update (6 months later) Arlene still rocks! she remembered me from my first visit and was her super sweet self! I told her a little about what I wanted in a haircut, essentially giving her free reign because I trust her and she gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever had. she heard what I wanted and gave me that and more! I recommend her no matter...
