We are visiting from California and did NOT have a good experience. My brother-in-law did not like his chicken Marsala afler taking one bite and asked to change his order. He asked to order the ribeye steak instead and the server said she had to check with her manager. The manager, Marisa , came back to our table and asked what was wrong with the food. My brother-in-law told the manager he didn’t like it and wanted to order the steak instead which is more expensive than the chicken Marsala. The manager said she had to speak to the owner. Tom Jones. Marisa took a long time to come back to the table. Meanwhile, our server came back to the table announcing that the manager said she could take 30% off the bill for a meal that my brother-in-law did not eat! That is unacceptable. We asked for the manager to return to the table. When Marisa, the manager finally came back to the table she said she spoke to the owner and said she could discount the meal by 50%. Again, that is unacceptable! So, we asked to speak to the owner since Marisa obviously did not have the power to make a decision. Marisa finally came back to the table and we explained that this was unprofessional and not good customer service. We pointed out that even at McDonald’s you can replace your order if you don’t like something. You are paying for the food you receive. When we told Marisa that we were going to write a review about the poor service we received she replied “okay”. All of us at the table are business owners and understand the power of reviews and how it can impact your business which is why we all strive to provide a great customer experience in our industries. Marisa has no idea and apparently neither does the owner of Marabella’s. Marisa left the table and then the server returned to the table and indicated Marisa credited our bill for the entire meal. We had to go through all of this for a $29 meal! It is very sad that in this day and age, Black people are still treated as second class citizens by some people. Mabella’s manager and owner need to take a page out of Nordstrom and Kohl’s playbook. They provide excellent customer service and know how important it is to the heath and wealth of a business. Do...
Read moreI visited Mabellas Midland in last night to celebrate a dear friend birthday. I have visited Mabellas several times at both locations. I love the menu, because there are many different things that you can try. My all time favorite is the Lasagna! Well I chose to have Lasagna last night, and I was highly disappointed! From the first bite I knew that something was not right about it. It tasted like paste! No kind of flavor or texture at all! I mentioned it to the server, who told me that he we go and speak to the cook, and manager to see what can be done to correct the issue. We'll, he goes and maybe 20 minutes or more passes before he comes back. Upon coming back he stated that the cook informed him that they are using a new/ different type of cheese and that could be the problem. I told him that I understand, but I don't desire to eat it because it tastes horrible. In the meantime he said he would go and speak with the manager or have the manager to come speak with me. Due to the fact, I shouldn't have to pay for something that I didn't eat. I addressed the issue immediately. Well upon speaking to the manager she explained that they are using a different kind of cheese, and they do have someone new that is prepping the Lasagna. However, she informed me that I would have to pay for it, and that the only thing she can offer was a dessert and apology. I would have never thought that I would experience something like this at Mabellas. What was once my favorite place to get Lasagna, now have me rethinking is it really my favorite place for Lasagna?!? I am extremely disappointed! I will visit Mabellas again, but I will never order their...
Read moreThe service was great and atmosphere was also great but that’s where it stops. We visited for restaurant week and ordered from both the restaurant week menu and the regular menu.
For appetizers we had the summer fruit salad, there was no mozzarella or basil in the salad as described on the menu. All the fruit was there but was overpowered by arugula only bed of salad. It was very underwhelming and just seemed to be thrown together. We also had the Fritti Misto which was meh, it was fried too long.
For our entree we had the Veal Chop from the restaurant week menu, the chops looked great but were under seasoned, and mine was raw near the bone. The chops were served with more arugula, and potatoes that had been pre-fried and then fried again which made the potatoes very hard and dry.
We ordered a medium lamb chops to-go but they were cooked rare so had to air fry to medium when we arrived home.
For dessert we had the Icebox chocolate cake which was the best thing that came out of the kitchen, and also the peach crepe cake which was awful to be frank, it wasn’t sweet, wasn’t well put together and the peaches were not peaching 🫠.
Overall our ticket was $200 and we left highly disappointed, the food was not prepared well and at this price point there is no room for this many errors.
Please do better and hire a kitchen...
