I hardly ever put reviews on a restaurant, but I had to with this one. I was looking forward to trying it because I’ve seen instagram food bloggers talk about this place and the good reviews. So I figured after seeing all that, the food would be great. It was the complete opposite. MAYBE it was because of the type of items I ordered. I had the Mexican burger, and I emphasized to the cashier that I wanted no ham and no side of sausage (which is what it comes with). My meal still came with both. I ordered my husband the chilaquiles torta and it had beans in it, which it does not say that on the menu. If I knew I would have requested them off because he doesn’t eat beans. The torta was soaked in them and not appealing. It just astounded me at how pricey the food was, while I can go to an authentic Mexican food truck and get food 100 times better. The food here is supposed to be authentic and homemade, which maybe some of the items are, but my burger tasted like a slightly better Burger King burger, no exaggeration. The side of sausage looked like a sliced up cheap undercooked hot dog. I’ve never seen anything like this. I can’t believe that was put on a plate that costs $16. This isn’t even to bash this restaurant, this is just complete honesty. With how expensive this economy has gotten since Covid, it’s insulting to put a cheap looking sausage that looks like a cafeteria hot dog on such a plate. Sometimes I really just think a lot of people in Columbus have low standards for food, and that’s why sometimes places will have extremely high ratings and the food is just very mediocre in actuality. And I’m literally from here myself. I lived in LA for almost three years before coming back, enough to taste a lot of variety. And of course every city and state will have different foods and different relative levels of quality I understand. This is just honestly insulting in a way though, how it can be this pricey and this mediocre. My husband and I were very disappointed. On a positive note, the natural juice was great...
Read moreWe were really excited to try this place. We went for brunch on Sunday and expected a wait. The hostess took down my name and said she'd call when a table was available and that it shouldn't be very long for a table for 2. We came back in after waiting close to an hour as it seemed like many people just arriving were being seated and wanted to ask how long it'd be. After waiting inside for some time, we decided to leave. The hostess walked out behind us and said she'd just cleaned a table for us. Echoing other reviews, we were rushed to order. They ran out of café de olla, so we only received 1 drink and the waitress didn't offer to bring anything else while more was being made. It took close to a half hour for her to come back so we could put our order in. We had to ask the person that brought our food out for cutlery and water refills. It seemed like other patrons were being prioritized, but we felt ignored. The food was fabulous and worth the hype, but not worth the experience we had. It also took a half hour or more to ever get the other café de olla while we watched others get theirs. Adding insult to injury, they overcharged my card. I left a 20% tip on the bill, despite the terrible service, and I was charged $35.80 just for the tip which should have been $12.61. I contacted the restaurant to give them the opportunity to correct the error and it resulted in an additional charge for the correct amount. I asked them for a receipt for the refund of the incorrect amount and they could not provide it. I had to call my bank to do a charge back on the incorrect amount because at this point they have charged me close to $175. If you want to try their food (it really is good!) I'd recommend placing a carry out order and...
Read moreVERY Impressed! My family and I are total foodies and found this family-owned gem, founded by a passionate couple from Guanajuato, Mexico that brings authentic Mexican flavors by making ALL items/meals made fresh from scratch daily using real, authentic ingredients. We all tried each other's food shown in pics, but missing a couple others which were a Torta, Burrito, and a Burger, and everything had incredible flavor and something I've never experienced before at a Mexican restaurant ever, let alone around Columbus or surrounding areas. They serve breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Atmosphere, staff, food, and drinks live up to well-deserved hype brought upon them from a TikTok posted to promote the restaurant to try and help get people in to try the food, and word spread and became a hit! The owner, and chef came over and spoke to us, and he was telling his story and background with how it started, and reiterated several times that what we were eating and drinking was made fresh from scratch that same day! I think the concept is beautiful and they know exactly what they're doing, and I wish them so much success! Happy to have a place like this and will be a returning customer! You must try this place if you're in the area you will not...
