Great pizza, but their employees are shackled to a website/computer system to the point of inflexibility, which is annoying because their computers have issues. You can't call in and use "internet" deals. There is no place online to write custom message or changes (except for delivery info, which they NEVER read). Some changes are IMPOSSIBLE online, like changing garlic sauce to cheese sauce w/pizza. The "customize pizza" interface has weird quirks a. Can't make a specialty pizza into 1/2 just cheese b. Can't switch a specialty pizza with a couple toppings to 1/2 double and 1/2 none (eg 2x Pep on left, Zero Pep on Right) They charge $3.00 for delivery and claim none of that is given to the driver who also expects a tip. Often 1/2 and 1/2 pizzas are kinda more like 2/3 and 2/3, with toppings bleeding way over into the wrong halves. This is usually blamed on the "cut" but realistically they seem to just wing it and expect you to just deal with it.
The net result is I often have to call to ask my questions, then hangup and order online to actually get the deal, and then call them back after I place the order to make adjustments that the website can't make. If their goal is to reduce calls, ease process of placing order, or some combination there of, then they are failing on most fronts.
All that aside, when I do get an order placed properly, they usually a quick to deliver a hot pizza that tastes great. They are good about putting light sauce and/or light cheese when requested, and if they really screw up they do a decent job of following up on customer feedback (especially if the feedback comes through their...
Read moreAt 8pm, I got off work and ordered a large pepperoni pizza. I was given an estimated 45 min delivery time.
At 9:30, I saw the online tracker was still at the store so I called to check on my order. I was told it was out for delivery (the first lie of many I’d endure this night).
At 10pm, I called back and a manager named Ty told me that the pizza was in fact not out for delivery but was “being picked up right now.”
At 10:30, I called back and manager Ty informed me yet again that my pizza had yet to leave the store. I asked him if he had lied earlier about my pizza being picked up. He refused to admit to the lie but he did admit that my pizza “being picked up right now” was - surprise, surprise - NOT the truth. At this point, I was pretty done with these guys and asked him to just cancel the order. Manager Ty told me that he cancelled the order but he would still send the pie out to me. Before hanging up, I clarified with him that the pie was still on the way and decided I’d wait for it a little longer instead of making my own dinner.
Now it’s nearly midnight and I have to be back at work in less than 8 hours but instead of sleeping I’m eating plain eggs because the pizza never showed up.
I can completely get that mistakes and delays happen - especially in a busy kitchen - and would have been understanding if they’d been upfront and honest. However Manager Ty decided to lie repeatedly to pacify the customer and cover his own behind and that is something I will not tolerate. Needless to say - that is the last pizza I will ever order...
Read moreThe only reason I give it 3 stars is because of past experience. My last, and final, experience with this Papa Johns was dreadful. The pizza I ordered was as flat as a flatbread pizza. As I sat and waited for them to make me another one, a few customers came in and ordered pizzas. When customers walked outside to wait for the pizzas to be made, the two employees working there began to complain about how the customers had the nerve to order so many pizzas. I understand there was only two of them, but it was in the evening and the customers can't help the lack of employees working. I'll give them credit by saying they did make a pretty good do-over pizza, which means they do have the ability to make a good pizza but only so when you put them on spot to do so. Went to Dublin Muirfield Papa Johns a few days later, no...
